Develop a high performance, light-weight solar powered vehicle capable of winning the next National and World Competition.

Motivations

Promote educational excellence in science, engineering and mathematics linked to business, law, and design at CU.

Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and engineers work in a vertically integrated collaboration framework.

Strengthen the Solar Energy research and education focus of CU’s Energy Initiative by creating public awareness and enthusiasm.

American Solar Challenge

The 2008 North American Solar Challenge (NASC2008) is a competition to design, build, and drive solar-powered cars in a cross-country time/distance rally event.

Teams compete in a 2400 mile drive from Dallas, Texas to Calgary, Alberta.
