Dear Colleagues,Warm Greetings!On behalf of the organising committee, I am pleased to invite you to attend the upcoming IACTS Techno College Cardiac CME being held at Rohtak on 25th &26th May 2019.Indian association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons organises Techno College Cardiac CME as postgraduate teaching program every year on recent advances in cardiac surgery with emphasis on emerging technology. We stand on the brink of a technological revolution today. Despite all the advancement when we look at healthcare trends for 2019, there are a few things we can point out and say – that's what's coming next. A decade ago, a trend to implant bioprosthetic valves started but there was a big question on durability and a hope of transcatheter valve in valve therapy was predicted as a solution, which has become reality now. Latest trends of emerging technology have led to transformation of cardiac surgery practice globally, especially with minimally invasive, robotic and transcatheter therapies and these are being adopted widely in India also. Renowned experts from all over India will elaborate on wide range of topics teaching cutting edge techniques of cardiac surgery that will be both exciting and unnerving and, what better source for predicting the future of cardiac surgery in our country than where it originally started. Dear friends, although trending technology will be game changer in healthcare, yet it is costlier and not within reach of common person in our country. Govt. initiatives through RBSK and PMJAY may play vital roles to make modern healthcare affordable to poor section of society and this will also be part of discussion during this educational event. Scenario of heart transplants has also changed in India during last decade and experts will focus on latest developments in this eld. Management of formidable aortic pathologies has become possible with endovascular and hybrid techniques and there will be didactic lectures by expert faculty. Live demonstration of surgical ablation of AF with cutting edge argon gas technology and TAVR has also been planned during this meeting. Future technology involving 3 D printing, articial intelligence and bioenergetic health index are likely to play big role in management of cardiovascular diseases and these topics are also part of the event.Vascular anastomosis and Bentall wet labs to learn practical surgical skills for postgraduates have also been planned during this event.Innovation and inventions of new techniques is the need of hour and this is the time for us to bridge these gaps with the theme “Achieving the New Heights of Excellence in Cardiovascular Surgery Through Emerging Technology”. Not only cardiovascular surgeons but cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, perfusionists and nurse practitioners also, being part of heart team, will enrich their knowledge and skills by attending the techno college. I hope this meeting will provide an opportunity for postgraduates as well as all of us to learn and achieve. Pt B D Sharma University of Health Sciences Rohtak is NAAC 'A' graded and was adjudged 2nd best medical university in the country in year 2018. It is famous for pollution free green campus adjacent to M D university which has been declared the cleanest university in the country in 2018. Deptt of Cardiac Surgery here is 22 years old running MCh and BSc Perfusion Technology courses and has emerged as leading centre of surgical ablation and valve repair. We request all to actively participate in scientic program which will be an appropriate ambience for meaningful deliberations in Rohtak the Educational City of Haryana.
