The CT Challenge and Founder Jeff Keith will be honored at the NCAA Men’s Final Four Lacrosse Championships on Saturday, May 25th at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA. Buick, in partnership with the NCAA, selected Jeff to be featured in its Human Highlight Reel, which can be seen online at http://ncaa.org/buick. The Buick Human Highlight Reel honors former NCAA athletes who have had immeasurable impact on their communities through their charitable organizations. Buick is proud to support the CT Challenge and will host Jeff Keith and his guests on the field during the second semi-final game in special recognition of the positive impact the CT Challenge has had on the lives of cancer survivors throughout the country. The selection of the CT Challenge by Buick follows the release of the Buick Human Highlight Reel show, which was featured on CBS Sports during the pre-game of the 2013 NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball Tournament in April. Buick chose Jeff for dedicating his life’s work in the fight against cancer and the impact that the CT Challenge has on the lives of thousands of cancer survivors. Keith lost his leg to cancer at the age of 12 and went on to become an accomplished athlete and Division 1 lacrosse player at Boston College in 1984. In 1985, Jeff became the first cancer survivor and amputee to run across America, raising $1 million for the American Cancer Society. In 2005, he founded the CT Challenge organization to empower cancer survivors to live healthier lives through programs in exercise, nutrition & psychosocial support. “On behalf of the entire CT Challenge community, I am proud to represent our organization and accept this honor. The selection is the result of the hard work of the countless number of riders, volunteers, donors and friends of the CT Challenge who have dedicated themselves to help build our organization into a major force in the field of cancer survivorship. We dedicate this award to the 13 million cancer survivors who are living in the US. About the Connecticut Challenge The CT Challenge is 501(C) 3 charity founded in 2005 to support survivorship programs throughout New England and the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship, located in Fairfield, CT, where cancer survivors are empowered through programs in exercise, nutrition and psychosocial support. CT Challenge programs for cancer survivors are funded by the Annual CT Challenge Bike Ride that takes place in July. To date, over $9 million has been raised to fund programs for cancer survivors.
