Girlcott is a movement of women who plan to go makeup-free for the month of March, hoping to raise awareness around unrealistic standards
of beauty and the relationship between women and cosmetics. Participants will donate all the money usually spent (in one month) on cosmetics to the
Girlcott Fund, set up to benefit women and young girls locally and globally.

The Women & Gender Resource Action Center and Connecticut Humanities will host a screening of Killing Us Softly 4, a documentary that examines how advertising traffi cs in distorted and destructive ideals of femininity, challenging viewers to think critically about
popular culture and its relationship to sexism, eating disorders, and gender violence.
