CC3+ users who do not have City Designer 3 and/or Dungeon Designer 3 can install this package, but some tools will not be available. This package is not compatible with Campaign Cartographer 3. It works only with Campaign Cartographer 3+.

If you installed Shessar's earlier integration of the Fractal Mapper 8 version of the CSUAC, do not uninstall, delete or otherwise remove this earlier version at this time! Install the new version first and read the later instructions for dealing with the older version afterwards! Deinstalling at this time can cause serious problems!

Please do not skip this step! (See the screen shot above.) If you have them, make copies of these four important files, which you'll find in (Data folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus, and keep the copies in a non-CC3+ folder:

• city.mnu – This file contains the toolbar for CD3. If you do not have CD3, you may not have this file. • dungeon.mnu – This file contains the toolbar for DD3. If you do not have DD3, you may not have this file. • fcw32.imn – You do not necessarily have this file either. If you do, it contains the toolbar for the earlier version of the

CSUAC and/or other custom toolbar elements not made by ProFantasy. • fcw32.mnu – All systems have this file. It defines the CC3+ overland toolbar that is available in all CC3+ installations.

EErraassiinngg aa CCoonnfflliicctt FFiillee If you did find the file fcw32.imn, please erase it in your CC3+ data folder after backing it up. If this file is pre-sent, it is for the earlier CSUAC version or it was made by some other third party. This file can under certain circum-stances conflict with the new toolbar system and may cause CC3+ to crash. However, the elements that it contains can be restored in the new toolbars.

RReeccoovveerriinngg aafftteerr aa BBaadd IInnssttaallllaattiioonn If you have problems with CC3+ after this installation that you cannot resolve and you want to return to the pre-installation status, simply copy the files that you secured (above) back into (Data folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus and confirm that you want to overwrite the new files. Restart CC3+ and you'll return to where you were before.

MMaacc aanndd LLIINNUUXX UUsseerrss We learned during beta testing that Apple Mac and LINUX users who run Campaign Cartographer 3+ over a Windows emula-tion cannot run this Setup program successfully. Please return to the Vintyri downloads page in Internet and down-load the alternative file offered there for Mac and LINUX users, following the instructions on the Internet page. You do not need the further instructions here until you reach Page 14 and the theme Removing the Older Version. The Mac and LINUX version also automatically install toolbars for the Vintyri Cartographic Collection and Bogie's Mapping Ob-jects. These free collections must be downloaded separately.

KKnnoowwiinngg WWhheerree YYoouurr DDaattaa FFoollddeerrss AArree

During the installation of the CSUAC 2.0 for CC3+, you will have to direct the Setup program to the location of your CC3+ data folders. CC3+ installs into two separate locations, one for the program files and one for the data files. The program files usually are in C:\Program Files (x86). This is the wrong location for this installation! You need to install in the data folders file. If you installed in the CC3+ default location, your installation goal is: C:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3Plus However, ProFantasy gives users the option of installing the CC3+ data into a folder of one's own choice. If you used that option, you need to tell setup what that location is. If you have forgotten where you installed the CC3+ data files, do the fol-lowing: • 1. Open the Windows File Explorer, in some lingual versions simply called the Explorer. • 2. Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus. • 3. Locate the file named @.ini.

-4- • 4. With the left mouse key, make a double click on the symbol to the left of the file name @.ini. • 5. That will open the Windows Notepad and it will show you the location where you installed the CC3+ data folders.

This also is the location where you need to install the CSUAC for CC3+. See the screen shot on the previous page.

MMaaiinnttaaiinniinngg aanndd FFiixxiinngg TToooollbbaarrss CC3+ has a single custom toolbar. The CSUAC 2.0 for CC3+ add-on makes extensive use of that one custom toolbar. However, other third party creators of add-ons for CC3+ also can program this toolbar to serve their applications. This can lead to serious conflicts. The programming decisions of another third party vendor well might overwrite and there-fore destroy the Vintyri toolbar system that is installed with this product. There also may be other things at times that lead to both your Vintyri and CC3+ toolbars being damaged or disappearing. In your CC3+ data folder – (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\) – is a file named VPToolbarFix.bat. If you open the CC3Plus folder with your Windows File Explorer and make a double click with the left mouse key on this symbol's file, it should correct those problems in most cases.

However, if you have installed a third party add-on that causes a toolbar conflict, we suggest that you contact us at: info@vintyri.org … for help in combining the conflicting toolbars into a working model.

IInnssttaallllaattiioonn To install the CSUAC 2.0 for CC3+, download the following file and unzip it into a desired location: http://www.vintyri.org/downloads/csuac_2_setup.zip. After unzipping, you will find a new file named csuac_2_setup.exe. Run this file only after securing your .mnu and .imn files, as explained farther above. To install this product: • Close CC3+ if it is open. • It also is recommended that you temporarily turn off your anti-virus software. • Open the File Explorer of Windows to the folder that contains the setup file named csuac_2_setup.exe. • Using the screen shot on the following page as a guideline, take these steps in the File Explorer:

1. Click the symbol for the file csuac_2_setup.exe with the left mouse key to mark it and then with the right mouse key to open the context menu.

2. Pick the menu option Run as Administrator. NOTE: Under certain circumstances, modern Windows versions will refuse to run this installation if it is done without administrator privileges active. It is better to take these steps and to avoid such problems.

• After the installation program begins running, simply click the command button Next > on the first page of the Setup routine.

• On the second page:

1. Scroll through the CSUAC End User License Agreement. This is a legally binding agreement. It is to your advantage to read it before you accept it.

2. Click the check box I accept the agreement.

3. Click the command button Next > .

• Use the middle screen shot on the previous page as a guideline:

1. You need to enter the path to your CC3+ data folder installation in the text field named Destination folder. If the default value C:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3Plus is not the correct path, erase it.

2. Then click the command button Browse .

3. Select the folder that holds your CC3+ data installation. This is the folder that you chose for the data and

learned to find on Page 3. The example shown in the lower screen shot on the previous page – F:\Programme\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\ - is only an example. You need to enter the path and folder that contain your CC3+ data files.

4. Click the command button Next >

• Although it's not clear from the info text, the next page – shown above – also sets up an Uninstall-routine, in case you

want to remove the CSUAC 2 at some future time. We recommend that you:

1. Click the check box named Create shortcuts in Start Menu (see the screen shot above).

2. Click the command button Next > .

-8- • The next page (lower screen shot on the previous page) lets you review the settings that you've made. Once you've

done that, click the command button Install .

• The setup program now shows you the status of the running installation. See above. You need do nothing. The final

page of the setup program (below) reports that the installation is finished. Do not skip the next steps! They install the CSUAC toolbar that you need to work with the CSUAC. If you:

1. Click the check box named Launch CSUAC for CC3+ …

2. … and click the command button Finish …

… CC3+ will open a DOS-type window briefly. Do not close the DOS window! Setup then automatically will open CC3+ to let you check if your installation was successful.

However, you usually will not see at first whether your installation succeeded, because it now operates with various custom toolbars, and these have not yet been activated. We'll activate them now, using the screen shot at the top of the following page as a guideline: • 1. Click the symbol with a hammer at the lower right of the screen. That should open the dialog box named Select

Screen Tools.

• 2. Click the check box by Custom icon bar 3 until the arrow points upwards (or in a different direction, if you prefer). • 3. Click the command button OK .

It's one of the curiosities of CC3+ that it often will show only an empty custom toolbar at this point. If that happens with your installation: • 1. Close CC3+. • 2. Open CC3+ again. At that point, your custom toolbars should start appearing. See the screen shot on the following page.

RReemmoovviinngg tthhee OOllddeerr VVeerrssiioonn One needs to ponder carefully before deciding whether to remove the older CSUAC integration for CC3+. If you have made a number of maps using symbols and/or fill styles with the older CSUAC integration, these maps will not be able to access the CSUAC symbols and fill styles in the new version if you remove the older edition. Instead, you'll see the notorious red Xs that have posed so many problems for CC3+ users. The reason for this lies largely in the multi-resolution symbol system used in Version 2. Both the new version and Shessar's earlier version from 2012 (updated for CC3+ in 2015) are required by license restrictions to use the CSUAC symbol and fill style sets that originally were created for Fractal Mapper 8 from NBOS Software. Neither version of the CSUAC uses original CC3+ symbols or fill styles. In her original integration in 2012, Shessar used the original FM8 symbols and fill styles in a single resolution. Nothing more was possible at that time. However, CC3+ produces the best graphical quality when it can use symbols in at least three reso-lutions and, when possible, four resolutions. The CSUAC Version 2 has several improvements over the earlier integration, but the main improvement is that it now gives users the multiple resolutions that draw the best performance from CC3+. This as well as some other changes that are implemented in the new integration require the use of new library files and ex-tended file names rather than those used in the earlier CSUAC integration. For that reason, we built Version 2 in such a manner that it can exist parallel to the older version on a computer without conflict. As a result, when one calls up an older map in CC3+ with content from the earlier CSUAC integration, it still will retain all of its symbols and fill styles and produce no red Xs if the earlier version has not been removed. When one adds new CSUAC content, it will take those files from the Version 2 fills and symbols. The disadvantage to leaving the older CSUAC installed on your computer is that it consumes 672 MB of space of your hard drive storage. Some users who have installed the earlier CSUAC integration may have no need for it and may wish to use those 672 MB for other purposes. That applies particularly to the following users: • Those who installed the earlier CSUAC integration but who never have used it. • Those who have no need or desire to work again with older maps containing earlier version CSUAC objects.

-11- If you fall into one of those categories, you need to remove the earlier CSUAC manually. Unlike Version 2, it has no uninstall utility.

Removing the Earlier CSUAC Fill Styles To remove the fill styles from the earlier CSUAC version, go into the folder (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\Bitmaps and erase the folders named BL_FM8 Floor Fills, BL_FM8 Landscape Fills and BL_FM8 Structural Fills. This will free 47 MB space on your hard drive.

Removing the Earlier CSUAC Symbols Two steps are necessary here. To remove the symbols from the earlier CSUAC version, go into the folder (Data Fold-ers)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\menu and erase the .mnc files shown in the following screen shot:

Next, go into the folder (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\Symbols and erase the folder named CSUAC, as shown in the screen shot on the following page. This will free the remaining 625 MB of storage.

LICENSE AGREEMENT AND LIMITED WARRANTY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY This End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you and Cecil Solomon (“I” or “me”) for the digital art in the CSUAC Art Collection.. The Images and files in the CSUAC Art Collection are copyrighted and protected under the various laws of the United States, Interna-tional treaties and other applicable laws. The Images and files shall remain the sole and exclusive property of me and/or my licensors. Use of the Images is licensed pursuant to the terms of this License Agreement. Use of the Images without agreeing to this License Agreement, or a breach of these License Agreement terms, is copyright infringement. I AM ONLY PREPARED TO LICENSE YOU TO USE THE CSUAC ART COLLECTION ON THE TERMS OF THIS EULA. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THROUGH THE FOLLOWING LICENSE CONDITIONS. IF YOU KEEP ANY PART OF THE CSUAC ART COLLECTION, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE TERMS OF THIS EULA. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE TERMS OF THIS EULA, PLEASE DELETE (OR UNINSTALL) THE CSUAC ART COLLECTION FROM YOUR COMPUTER. 1. Technical Support If you require technical assistance with the CSUAC Art Collection itself, please refer to www.gmsapprentice.com. 2. License Subject to the other requirements of this EULA, you are granted a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the art pack in the following manner: (a) you may load the CSUAC Art Collection into and use it on a computer which is in your custody and control for your own private and domestic use; (b) you may load the CSUAC Art Collection from one computer to another provided any computer on which it is used is under your custody and control at the time of use; (c) you may make a single copy of the CSUAC Art Collection in machine readable form for backup purposes only and provided that all copyright and any other proprietary legends or other notices on the original are reproduced in full; (d) you may use the CSUAC Art Collection to create items for personal use or resale, including book covers, maps, calendars, interior artwork, adventures, modules, and consumer merchandise, provided such use is not intended to allow the re-distribution or re-use of the images themselves. (e) you may use images from the CSUAC Art Collection as décor or gaming props in office areas, lobbies, public areas, restaurants, or retail stores. The images may be used as design elements in video, film, or television broadcasts. (f) you may use the images in connection with your business or entity (ie, letterhead and/or identity documents, provided the restrictions in paragraph 3(b) are followed.

-14- (g) you may modify or alter images from the CSUAC Art Collection as necessary for your use, provided that if such modification or alteration constitutes a derivative work, the rights to all such derivative works shall belong exclusively to me or my licensors and that you shall only use such derivative work in accordance with this agreement. If requested by me, you agree to execute a written assignment of any such rights, including copyrights, at no cost to the original copyright holder. (h) you may transfer the CSUAC Art Collection (complete with all documentation) and the benefit of this EULA to another person pro-vided such person has agreed to accept the terms and obligations of this EULA and you transfer any permitted copies of the Art Pack you may have made to that person or destroy all copies not transferred. If any transferee does not accept such terms then this EULA shall automatically terminate and all rights granted hereunder shall terminate as well. All rights not expressly granted as permitted hereunder are, to the extent permitted by law, reserved to me and my licensors, including without limitation, all right, title, and interest in the CSUAC Art Collection, in all languages, formats, and media anywhere throughout the world. . Your rights of use under this EULA are strictly conditional upon your observance of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement. 3. Restrictions Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, you are not permitted under any circumstances: (a) to load the CSUAC Art Collection on to a network server for the purposes of distribution to one or more other computer(s) on that network or to effect such distribution. (b) to sublicense, distribute, or assign the images or rights to the images to another party except as outlined in paragraph 2(h). (c) to use any portion of the CSUAC Art Collection as part of a trademark, service mark, logo, or any other design in which you establish your own rights. I or my licensors retain full rights to the images in the art pack. (d) to use the CSUAC Art Collection or the images within the art pack to create a database or as material for a mapping program or ap-plication except for your own private use. (e) to use the CSUAC Art Collection in a product or service whereby the images from the CSUAC Art Collection can be used apart from the product or service. (f) to use the CSUAC Art Collection in any way that could be considered defamatory, pornographic, libelous, immoral, obscene or fraud-ulent, or illegal, either by making physical changes to it, in the juxtaposition to accompanying text or images, or otherwise. 4. Termination Without prejudice to any other rights, any breach terminates this EULA so I may terminate this EULA immediately and without notice if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this EULA. In the event of termination, you must destroy all copies of the CSUAC Art Collection and all of its component parts including any CSUAC Art Collection assets stored on the hard disk of any computer. All provisions of this EULA relating to disclaimers of warranties, limitations of liability, remedies, or damages, and my proprietary rights shall survive termination. 5. Ownership You only own the media (if any) on which the CSUAC Art Collection is recorded. I and/or my licensors shall at all times retain owner-ship of the CSUAC Art Collection as recorded on the media and all subsequent copies regardless of form. 6. Warranty Disclaimer and Exclusions 6.1 THIS CSUAC ART COLLECTION IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND OR NATURE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, I AND MY LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL OTHER REPRE-SENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS OR OTHER TERMS, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND/OR CONDITIONS OF TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH REGARD TO THE CSUAC ART COLLECTION AND EACH AND EVERY PART THEREOF. WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, I DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE CSUAC ART COLLECTION IS ERROR-FREE OR WILL OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, NOR THAT I WILL REPAIR ANY ERRORS IN THE CSUAC ART COLLECTION.

(B) IN ANY CASE, THE MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF ME AND MY LICENSORS UNDER OR IN RELATION TO THIS EULA OR THE USE OR ATTEMPTED USE OF THIS CSUAC ART COLLECTION SHALL BE LIMITED TO US $10.00. 6.3 SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT PERMIT THE WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS OR LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY SET FORTH IN THIS PARAGRAPH. YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY BY JURISDICTION. 7. Miscellaneous 7.1 This EULA and any claim or dispute of whatever nature arising out of or relating to this EULA shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia, USA, without regard to their choice of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of this EULA or the use or other disposition of the CSUAC Art Collection will be brought and resolved in the state or federal courts in Vir-ginia. 7.2 The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply to this EULA. 7.3 If you acquired this CSUAC Art Collection in the United States of America, you will not export it except as authorized and permitted by the laws and regulations of that country. 7.4 This EULA constitutes the entire agreement between me and you with respect to the license and use of the CSUAC Art Collection and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings. Without limiting the foregoing, this EULA supersedes any and all prior agreements in effect regarding the use of this CSUAC Art Collection (or any earlier version thereof), express or implied, as if you had entered into this EULA at the time you obtained a copy of the CSUAC Art Collection or earlier version thereof. No amendment or modi-fication of this EULA will be binding unless made in writing and signed by a duly authorized representative of me. I may freely assign any or all of my rights and obligations under this EULA. 7.5 In the event this EULA is not deemed to cover a particular use or disposition of the CSUAC Art Collection, your rights are limited to those available under the fair use provision of the US Copyright Act.
