Need for CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility)
Improve public Image of the firm.
Organization should give job satisfaction, make very reasonable effort to
give security of employment.
Giving recognition to the needs of developing countries, limiting the extent
of political involvement or campaigning, donations to or sponsorship of the
arts, educational, sporting organizations or charities.
Solving social problems. For example, the protest against aerosol
sprays.
Brand Reputation and brand attractiveness.
Better management and conservation of strategic assets.
Better internal and external relationships.

CSR ACTIVITIES OF TATA GROUP OF COMPANIES
Tata Steel Endeavors To Educate Children of Ethnic Communities Tata Steel, is supporting 30 children belonging to the
Sabar and Birhore tribes from the villages of Patamda
block, by enrolling them in two schools namely St.
Thomas High School, Gandedungri and Loyola School,
Chaira.Last year Tata Steel’s Tribal Cultural Society
had admitted 10 children from Dongagarral
and Dhusra villages in Holy Cross School, Chowka for
formal education.
Drive India Enterprise Solutions adopts village in Thane
The village of Jarandi, located near Khardi on the Mumbai-
Nasik highway.
The plan focuses mainly on sustainable development in the
village.
The purpose of the project is to enrich small-holder farmers
through a more holistic and self-reliant.
It also focus on community development, gender
empowerment, protection of environment and health
awareness.
TATA STEEL Provides Livelihood to Over 3000 Families in Odisha
Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) has helped in providing
sustainable livelihood opportunities to more than 3,000 rural households.
More than 90 per cent of these SHGs are run exclusively by women,
thereby providing a significant fillip to women’s empowerment in the state.
The locations where Tata Steel is actively
facilitating formation of SHGs include
Kalinganagar, Bamnipal, Sukinda, Joda, Belpahar and
Gopalpur.
Tata International Conducts Plantation drive at BMC
SchoolThe drive was aimed at creating awareness of the
Environment Day, while highlighting the importance
and role of every young citizen in promoting
sustainability. The sapling plantation initiative saw a
large participation from secondary students.
Tata Group Spent Rs 1000 cr on Corporate Social Responsibility Activities in FY14
Tata Group has emerged as biggest CSR spending group in the country.
As per a media report an Indian conglomerate, the Tata Group spent Rs
1,000 crore on corporate social responsibility (CSR) in 2013-14.
While some Tata companies spend more than 2% of their profits on CSR,
others like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) are yet to meet the
requirement. In fiscal 2014, the outsourcing giant’s CSR expenditure
was Rs 93 crore, which was 0.48% of its profits

Award 2011', in the automobile manufacturing category.
