The CS163X family allows LED bulb manufacturers to achieve improved color quality at up to 30 percent greater efficiency than single-channel white LEDs. Innovative digital TruDim™ architecture controls two LED strings (white and red) using components typically used to control a single LED string. In addition, the CS163X incorporates powerline calibration technology, allowing the SSL manufacturers to calibrate final product characteristics, such as light output and color temperature, by sending commands via the powerline (eg. AC mains) terminals. The two-color light engine can help manufacturers generate 91 lumens/watt, significantly improved compared to today’s typical 70 lumens/watt, and achieve an increase in lamp flux with an existing lamp thermal design. A register lockout feature is also provided for security against potential access to proprietary registers.
