FROM THE PRINCIPALS DESK
The new deck is now complete and has undergone the final safety check. Students are excited to be able to use it for quiet play during recess and lunch.
Thank you to the P&C for purchasing new soft fall for the playground and more sand to top up the sandpit. With this and the current maintenance work being done, our school is looking great!
ONLINE GUARDIANS
Last term students in 3/4 and 5/6 listened to a talk on Cyber Safety and Bullying by our local Police Youth Liaison Officer. This was a great success and a huge eye opener for the students. I am seeking parent input in relation to a proposed evening session on ‘Adolescent Wellbeing’ where parents will have the opportunity to attend an educational session. There is a full page of information relating to content that will be covered at the back of the newsletter.
Before committing to this, as there is a cost involved for the school, I need to gather interest from our community. If this is something you would be interested in, please complete the Expression of Interest form at the back of the newsletter and return to school by the end of this week (Friday 25 October). The date would be advised if enough interest is provided. The session would go for approximately 1.5 hours which will include the question and answer time. The time would be after work hours to ensure as many parents as possible could attend.
UNIFORMS
If you have any suggestions on the proposed new jumper with school logo and skort which may be added as an option to the school uniform please inform the office as soon as possible. If no feedback is provided, the P&C would like to order these items by the end of the term so they are ready for next year if families wish to purchase. It is not expected that families purchase these, they are simply offering a few

125 YEARS CELEBRATION
Next year, Crystal Creek will be celebrating 125 years. To organise this kind of celebration takes an enormous amount of planning and requires a group of people to organise. The P&C have suggested that a committee be formed. If you are interested in being involved in the committee please email [email protected]. A special meeting will be held on Wednesday the 6th November at 2pm. We need as many people
as possible to make it a success. All ideas are welcome. If you can’t make the meeting but would like to be involved please use the email provided. The committee will work with the principal to organise the celebration.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAYS TERM 4
Thursday 19 and Friday 20 December are Staff Development Days. Schools are able to undertake professional learning during the year which would then mean staff do not need to attend these days at the end of the term. Teachers at Crystal Creek have been involved in two professional learning evenings and are therefore only needing to attend one of these days. The last work day for teaching staff will be Thursday 19 December. Students finish up on 18 December.
ENROLMENT
If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their child at Crystal Creek for 2020 please encourage them to make an appointment to see the principal, Sophie McMahon as soon as possible.
