Student Life at UMW
There are more than 100 clubs and organizations at Mary Washington's undergraduate campus in Fredericksburg, including educational, social, cultural, religious, recreational, political, and community service interests.
A few of these are Asian Student Association, Giant Productions, S.E.E.D, Women of Color, PRISM and Circle K.

• Mary Washington is conveniently located an hour away from both Washington D.C and Richmond, two major East Coast Cities.
• Central Park, a large outdoor shopping center, is a five minute taxi car ride away
• There is also a mall and a movie theater within a few miles from campus

Teach them how to play “yoot-nol-yi” “JEA-GI” This is Korean traditional game which people can learn easily and have a fun.

Class structureIn most U.S. classrooms professors expect verbal feed back from the students. Teachers expect students to be individualistic and to produce original work.
Eye ContactMaking eye contact with a person is a sign of respect for oneself and the other person. While in a conversation it is proper to make direct eye contact with a person of any age.

TippingTippingyou may encounter tipping most often is at restaurants. American restaurants do not add a service charge to the bill. Therefore it is expected that the customer will leave a tip for the server. Common practice is to leave a tip that is equal to 15% of the total bill for acceptable
service, and about 20% for superior service.
SmokingSmoking not allowed in any public buildings, on any public transportation (including airplane flights within the United States), in shops, movie theaters, schools, and office buildings. The general rule is if you are indoors, then you probably are not allowed to smoke. The exceptions are bars, nightclubs, and some restaurants. The legal smoking age in America is 18.
