The results of the RMMS 2010 survey: conclusions
• Evolution of both freight and passenger traffic was negative in most Member States in 2009
• The market share of non-incumbents companies rose significantly but still low
• The number of railway licencies was rather stable • Significant disparities between Member States
remain regarding track access charges

.Europe is convinced that rail transport is a key to address the challenge of sustainable transport for tomorrow. But to make sure that this strategy is successful the rail industry has to be prepared to undertake profound reforms and look beyond its traditional borders.
