A privileged location, situated at the crossroads of Western Europe and East Europe, at the foot of the Dinaric Alps, Croatia has on the 3 types of landforms: plains, mountains and coast. The plains are in the mainland. The mountains (present in 6 of the 7 regions of Croatia) cut the country in two from north to south and are present in all

regions of the coast. When we see the Croatian coast, it's very cut and dotted with a multitude of islands, there are no fewer than 1,200 islands many of which are still uninhabited and remain in the wild forming some reservations natural protected.

Unspoilt nature and breathtaking ...

Croatia is very preservative and protective of its natural heritage, reflected in national parks and nature reserves are the jewels of Croatia but also from Europe, because nowhere else can you see such beautiful sites such as, in national parks. You can visit the parks: Risnjak, Brijuni (islands), Plitvice Lakes, Paklenica, Kornati (islands), Krka and Mijet (islands).

Nature parks of Croatia extend throughout the territory, the most famous being the Lastovo Archipelago (archipelago of islands fascinating for its green landscapes and folk heritage), the Park Biokovo (most massive mountain high overlooking the Mediterranean sea, a unique site in Mediterranean and Europe), the Lonjsko Polje nature Park (protected moorland and ranked international importance), there is also the natural park Papuk fascinating by oak forests and beech, Velebit nature Park (the largest mountain massif of Croatia), there are also natural parks Žumberak, lake Vrana, Učka, Telašćica and Medvednica.

Zagreb

A historical perspective, the city of Zagreb was born from two medieval villages that have grown for centuries on two opposite hills. The first time that we had written Zagreb is in1094 the year in whichmention a bishopric was inaugurated in Kaptol, while the neighboring community of Gradec was declared a free royal town in 1242. These two communities were surrounded by strong walls and towers, whose remains have been preserved until today. During the Turkish invasions in Europe between the 14th and 18th centuries, Zagreb is an important border wall. Baroque renovation of the city in the 17th and 18th centuries changes the appearance of Gradec and Kaptol. The old wooden houses were destroyed while luxurious palaces, churches and convents are emerging. The city is enriched by numerous trade fairs and numerous artisan workshops. Rich noble families, servants of the king, senior religious leaders and wealthy merchants from all over Europe settled in Zagreb. Many schools and hospitals are born and people accept cultural customs of European capitals. The city than its medieval borders extend to the plain. The first public gardens and the first large rural properties are introduced . Zagreb confirmed its status as administrative, economic and cultural center of Croatia.

Découvrir Zagreb in few points…

1rst part

Merging Kaptol and Gradec and its surroundings in the single city of Zagreb in 1850 accelerated the development of the city. A devastating earthquake in 1880 creates the renovation and modernization of many neighborhoods and dilapidated buildings. Public buildings were erected parks and fountains are appointed and introduced public transport and municipal services. In the 19th century the number of inhabitants has increased tenfold. The 20th century brought to Zagreb the spirit of secession. Zagreb is now a highly urbanized center, in close relationship with European artistic, cultural and scientific centers of the time. With increasing wealth and industry, the city is expanding rapidly and pushes a contemporary and professional city, ready to meet the challenges of the third millennium.

Among the many place account Zagreb, the best known is certainly the place of Ban Josip Jelacic (photo above). Formerly marketplace for merchants of the Croatian regions. She lost this appelation market place but remains the meeting place of passage and gathering. Situated below the hills of Gradec and Kaptol, instead Josip Ban Jelacic is now the largest square and the main square of Zagreb. Heart of the capital, this is the place that once left the cars, now it's travelers go around Zagreb trams. Day and night, it is a place that lives, or all Zagreb is found, occurs either at the foot of the statue of Ban Josip Jelacic, around the Mandusevac (natural spring) fountain or the clock.

For the record, the Ban Josip Jelacic statue was previously facing north in protest against the invasion Hungarian, today turned by the south. An anecdote concerning Mandusevac fountain, the legend says that throw a coin into the fountain, your wish come true, another said that you drink its water casts a spell so that you never forget Zagreb and you will come back.

Maksimir Park, located him in the eastern part of the city and built in an oak forest, it takes its name from its founder, the Bishop of Zagreb Maksimiljan Vrhovac (1752 - 1827) who took care of the organization park with the help of Archbishop Haulik. When opened in 1794, he was the first and the largest park in Europe open to the public. Landscaped with paths, different constructions built in several different styles, and you can discover a Swiss pavilion, gazebo, pavilion of the echo and an impressive collection of sculpture scattered throughout the park. Walking through the park, you will discover the Zagreb Zoo, one of three zoos in Croatia but also the oldest since it opened in 1925. Although if it is considered only by its size, it would be rather a zoo. You can admire all kinds of animals from around the world. If you go up to Kaptol, there is outside the walls, Ribnjak park. It was a fishponds of the bishops who occupied the premises until the 19th century. The space was then transformed into an English-style garden, with waterfalls, exotic plants and decorative statues. This park was supposed to be a sculpture exhibition place, but this idea was never fully realized. As you walk, you will discover many magnolias and liquidambar. Composed of 6 gardens Opatovina park, previously belonged to the church and extends to the west wall of Kaptol. During the summer, the park comes alive by becoming a stage for cultural events.

Proud to be a human-sized capital, Zagreb is also a very sporty town and rewarded by numerous Olympic and World medals, such as the famous football team, the national team Handball and Ice Hockey "Medvescak Zagreb" but if you look a little closer to Croatia has and knows how to shine in all sports and all at the highest level. The big advantage of Zagreb is its proximity to the sea (2 hours drive), and 15 minutes from downtown Zagreb is the chance to have its own ski resort "Sljeme" that sits on top of the Medvednica mountain. This is the same station that welcomes "The White Queen Trophy" sports event counting towards the World Cup.

To think the sport, and as you walk through Zagreb, you will notice that the blue is omnipresent. Indeed, blue is the color of Zagreb, it is for this reason that all public transport (tram, bus and funicular) are blue, as the symbol of the major sports teams.

After the heart of Zagreb, here the lungs, Zagreb is full of parks that gives this city at all times of the year with opportunities to walk around and discover another angle. The four corners of the city, these parks are open to all. The main ones are:

Botanical Garden (photo cons) located in the city center, near the railway main station in Zagreb, it is part of the "horseshoe" green Zagreb. With an area of 4.7 hectares, you will find more than ten thousand plant species from Croatia and the entire world, and also many endangered species. This garden was founded by Antun Heinz (1861-1919). The first plants were planted in the botanical garden in 1892. Much of the garden is occupied by the arboretum. It is built in the style of an English garden, while the central and western part of the park was formed in a historicist style.

Following the publication of Zagreb in March 2014

Since ancient times, men and women have always traveled from one region to another or from one country to another for surgical, medical or welfare. Over the centuries, it has evolved and has become a tourist and economic center in its own right and a financial windfall for some Maghreb countries of Eastern Europe and in recent years, Croatia. This phenomenon has become global; Croatia is taking a prominent place in this new market.

To better understand this new form of tourism, it is wise beforehand to explain the reasons why the tourism and Croatia starts to pull ahead.

game It is good to know that the younger of Europe (remember that Croatia became not European since 1 July 2013) has great advantages in the field of medical tourism. The first is the proximity of other European countries, for example, it takes only 2 hours to Zagreb from Paris, Brussels or London. The fact that the standard of living is lower in Croatia,

medical cost also, and the last point but the main is the skill of the medical staff and infrastructure Hight-Tech. Everything is in place to reassure the patient and allow him to make his stay more enjoyable. It is also good to note that Croatia , all institutions present in the field of medical tourism are private and are subject to a drastic regulation of the Croatian health authorities.

What are the areas of medical tourism that we find in Croatia? Whether you want to get fixed teeth, an intervention to treat dermatological diseases, any kind of laser therapy or even a liposuctions or breast implantation. All medical fields present on the Croatian territory. Important is that Croatia have the best medical and surgeons in the world. Some of them providing operations around the world, such as USA and Latin America. For who? For everyone, there is no age or social levels to take care of their health and body.

Medical

Tourism

Another advantage in Croatia and take all its importance, it is the country itself. The beauty of its landscape, the friendliness and helpfulness of the Croatian people.

Why choose Croatia? As we said before, its proximity to the European countries, the high technological level of its professionalism and its practitioner’s medical

infrastructure, lower than those in France or England rates. In terms of prices, it is no longer a taboo subject, they are clearly marked and do not evolve at the customer's head. So if you have high income or low income, medical benefits will be identical. A final advantage and also to its importance in your decision is the timeout. While in France you often have to wait weeks or months to get an appointment for a dental surgery or eye surgery. Waiting list in Croatian private clinics is more shorter.

Private clinics are organized by their work that in a short time the

patient received top medical care.

Before the health was an economic sector subject to very little competition. Medical tourism today allows this concurrence and the patient is the primary beneficiary. For French insured, it is good to know that care is covered by health insurance provided that such care is made in the European Union. Therefore, care costing less expensive abroad than in France, so the patient performs some very important financial savings. In terms of care not covered by health insurance such as cosmetic surgery, equal quality of care, patient will see in his own financial interest, and for the sake of saving time and money, Croatia offer him the best possibilities and conditions for both medical and travel F

or this reasons, Croatia has all green lights on cost, high quality range of operative and postoperative care,

ultra modern facilities and waiting times.

In our next issue, we offer different packages of travel, allowing you to get acquainted with medical tourism, combining care and

pleasure to discover this wonderful country...

This year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary and as a present we are giving
