PARTLY OR FULLY COMPLETED PROJECTS

properties that have gone into administration

at the part complete or complete stage of

development. We provide structural defects

insurance cover to help speed up the time to

either complete or sell the project.

DISTRESSED (INSOLVENT) PROPERTIES

Property developments which do not make it

to the completion stage due to the developer

going into administration are commonly

known as distressed or insolvent properties.

We work with architects to provide structural

defects insurance for projects that they are

creating plans for. Architects act as an interme-

diary for their clients to ensure they have the

correct policy in place to cover their develop-

ment from future structural defects.

BUILDERS & DEVELOPERS

Builders and developers come to C-R-L.com to

secure comprehensive cover when they are due

to sell a recently completed development or

developments, or are looking to take on a part

complete project due to another builder going

into administration. Our policies are typically

based on contract value and do not include a

two-year builder’s liability period.

FIXED CHARGE RECEIVERS

Repossessed properties may require structural

defects insurance to be in place in order for

them to go to resale. Fixed charge receivers

1. WHEN DOES MY 10-YEAR STRUCTURAL INSURANCE START?

Your structural defects insurance starts from the day of practical completion.

2. IS THERE A DEFECTS LIABILITY PERIOD?

There is no defects liability period with C-R-L.com’s structural insurance

policies.

3. IS BUILD PERIOD COVER AVAILABLE?

Yes. In the event of the developer becoming insolvent or bankrupt the

insurer will either refund the deposit paid by the policy holder or pay the

additional cost required to complete the residential property, this will be

decided on a case by case basis.

4. ARE C-R-L.com’s POLICIES BASED ON THE CONTRACT VALUE?

Typically, yes, our rates are the most competitive you will find on the

market and are based on the value of each individual contract.

5. WHEN IS MY INSURANCE CERTIFICATE ISSUED?

Your C-R-L.com insurance certificate will be issued upon satisfactory
