The Client

The client, Carole Divall (published author) on behalf of Waterloo200 Education Committee

(organisation approved and supported by Government to oversee the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo (Waterloo200, nod)),

requested an animation aimed to show how a British soldier was living during the Napoleonic Wars period.

Waterloo200

In 2015 it will be celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.

In this battle, the French army under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated by the armies of the Seventh Coalition comprising of a British army under

the command of Duke of Wellington and a Prussian army commanded by Gebhard von Blucher.

Title: A soldier’s life

Format: Flash animation

Purpose: To provide information about different aspects of life as a soldier in Wellington’s army, outside the battlefield

Audience: 12 to 14 year old children

- The main character walks to the scene- The button on the bottom explains the rules of the animation: *The user has to explore the scene with the mouse to reveal the subjects available *By clicking or dragging the soldier to the chosen subject, the user can access the information available

- Each subject scene starts with a short dialog- More information is revealed by clicking the “next” on the bottom
