The handpainted glasware of Mauri Virtanen

The idea of painting on glass was born as a desire of creating something unique and different.

“Mauri Virtanen´s remarkable gifts as a painter and naturalist have brought him to

the forefront of the wildlife art world.

His evocative depictions of birds and animals on glass redefined wildlife painting

and won him the acclaim of common people and fellow artists alike”.

The images above show the first samples of handpainted glassware, after painting them

and with the enough practice given by depicting many birds, horses, landscapes and

flowers I have created a great collection of handpainted glassware.

Some months after painting the first samples of glassware, I managed to create the

first catalogue of handpainted glasses of MVN, it allowed many customers choose

their favourite sets of glasses.

To form the MVN´s catalogue 2011, it was necessary to launch the “Premium series”, they

represent the most beautiful and skilled paintings on the best glasses.
