How to Play?• 1 team bats and other team ‘bowls and fields’

     – 2 batsmen at a time: Striker and Non-striker – 1 life per batsman

     – Role of Batsmen:• Avoid Getting Out• Score Runs (points scored primarily by running between wickets after hitting the ball)

     – Role of Bowler• Pitch the ball to the striker. (Set of six balls is called an OVER after which the bowler

changes).• Get the batsmen out. Three simplest ways to get him out (i) Hit the wickets at the

striker’s end (ii)Catch the ball hit by the batsmen (striker) directly. (iii) Run out: hit thewickets before they reach the safe zone when the batsmen are running between thewickets.

     – Role of Fielder• Catch the bowl• Stop the bowl from going beyond boundary

     – Role of Umpire: As a Referee

    • Batting team’s inning ends once all their batsmen are out or when fixednumber of OVERs have been bowled. Now, both teams reverse their role.

    • To win, the second team has to score more runs than the first team in

    same number of overs.
