In Q2 2016, the amount of credit card offerings increased from 173 to 180.

o Capital One (+8), Chase (+3), Discover (+2), Barclays (+1) and Wells Fargo (+1) all

increased their product offerings.

o USAA (-5), US Bank (-2), American Express (-1) decreased their product offerings.

The majority of cards offer a wide range of different standard APR rates.

o Companies with cobranded cards tend to have the biggest range of APR rates.

Slightly over a third (36%) of cards currently offer a 0% introductory purchase rate compared

to 31% at the same time last year.

o Wells Fargo (92%) and Discover (86%) offer the highest percentage of cards with 0%

intro purchase rates.

41% of cards offer a 0% introductory balance transfer rate, compared to 38% in 2015.

o 100% of PNC and 92% of Wells Fargo (92%) cards have a 0% Balance Transfer Rate.

62% credit cards have no annual fee, compared to 57% in 2015.

o All Discover and PNC cards have no annual fee.

Cards with no foreign transaction fees increased from 29% to 44%.

o All Capital One, Discover and USAA cards have no foreign transaction fees.

Non-interest checking and basic savings accounts have similar minimum initial deposit

amounts and monthly maintenance fees.

o 91% have minimum account openings amounts of either $0, $25, or $50.

o 30 of 33 (91%) accounts charge maintenance fees of $10 or less.

Minimum deposit amounts and fees vary greatly for interest checking accounts.

Besides Capital One, Capital One 360 and Ally Bank, most companies (88%) offer an APY

of .06% or less for interest checking and savings accounts.

The majority of money market accounts (72%) are basic money market types.

o US Bank has the largest portfolio of money market products with 5 offerings.

o Over 3 in 4 (77%) charge a maintenance fee between $5-$15 for basic money market

accounts.

o 29% require a minimum deposit of $2,500 or more.

Of the 50 CD accounts 84% have variables terms.

o BB&T Bank has 7 different CD offerings, the highest among all banks.

o Nearly 3 in 4 (74%) of basic CDs require a minimum deposit of at least $1,000.
