What is the assignment?

• You are to create an original, fictional piece of writing in the form of a short story using the writing process (brainstorm, outline, draft, edit, publish).

• The story is to a minimum of TWO pages and a maximum of THREE pages typed and double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 point font with standard margins.

person, person vs. nature etc.)• a minimum of two characters • the use of five different literary devices

(foreshadowing, metaphor, onomatopoeia, alliteration, imagery, simile, dramatic irony etc.) which have been highlighted and labeled on your final copy

• the use of dialogue between characters which has been punctuated properly
