Be careful of color!

Do not mix a light background with light text we won’t be able to read it. The

same goes for a dark background with dark text. Having a basic background on

all slides is fine. You do not get extra points for changing colors!

Use of Blank Slides

If you include a picture that is too graphic or distracting for the audience include a blank slide after the picture or include an animation device so the picture can be added and removed as needed.

Use citations for any quote you are including in your PowerPoint

This is plagiarism and can cost you your grade.

“I don’t really think, I just walk” (Hilton).

Don’t use distracting graphics

If you make your PowerPoint too active you will lose your audience.

Unlike your tech classes, the PowerPoint is not the main goal, the speech is.

Use common sense. If you are wasting a majority of the time on animation you are probably setting yourself up for disappointment!

I DO NOT GIVE EXTRA POINTS FOR COOL ANIMATION!
