What is thinking outside the box?

It is the art of thinking creatively. Creativity has no limits and so does thinking out of the box.

Page 2: Creative thinking

Creativity is intelligence having fun.

Do not confuse with brilliant/fast/deep thinking, creative thinking is LONG thinking.

Why? What is the need?

We as human beings are constantly evolving, to do so, to maintain our dignity creative thinking is necessary.

We live inside a box, to think what we haven'tThought of, long thinking is required.

Hence it is NECESSITY not a luxury!

Page 4: Creative thinking

Which is the box we are talking about?

Obviously we cannot think out of our mind.

So,It is an imaginary boundary within our mind.

Our education, experiences, society, environment, family builds this boundary.

How to accomplish such a difficult task?

Thinking out of the box requires the merger of convergent information(which we already know), the relevant informationAnd applying the divergent multiplier we can have access to information which is not directly relevant.

After the collection of data, organisation is necessary to initiate the thinking process.

Best way to tackle a problem is to divide it into parts and organise them according to our needs.

Finally initiate the process of IDEATION.

Where to go outside the box?

Actually there is no correct answer to this question. The place outside the boundary is scary as it has never been accessed before and we are forced to go back inside, which is the wrong approach.

Apply the gathered data on areas never accessed before and let the magic begin.

Suppose we land a new idea, how to assess it’s worth?

The most important part is to accept yourself as an inventor and feel entitled to it.Then assessment comes into play:

• Look for a match b/w the new idea and the initial driving element.

• Evaluate the idea per se.

• Serendipity happens all the time, try to be open minded.

Either of these will give a rough estimate of the worth of your brainchild.

When is a good time to think out of the box?

We as social animals are expected of a normal behaviour and so we cannot always think outside the boundary.

If an environment punishes mistakes creativity is discouraged and monotony is encouraged.

Surround yourself with likeminded people.
