Salient Features
Indian Higher Education:The new paradigmToday’s India is a land of promises and potential. India is one of the fastest growing major economies, aiming to touch a GDP of 10 trillion by 2030 and one of the youngest nations in the world with a median age of 32 . By 2030, with nearly 140 million people in the college going age-group, one in every four graduates in the world will be a product of the Indian Higher Education system. As the country transits to a knowledge-based economy, the Government is endeavoring to focus on providing a strong framework for education, up-skilling the youth and firmly putting in place an establishment which promotes R&D, bolsters quality and fosters an environment which is conducive to innovation.
The draft National Education Policy 2019 outlines a well-planned expansion and a student-centric learning-driven model of education to transform the higher education landscape.
