Ger lor industrial sites are certi iedISO 14001 and are committed to continuously improving their environmentalper ormance in terms o : Air protection Reduction o energy consumption: preservation o water, resources, installation

o heat exchangers to recover the heat generated by the production lines to heatthe buildings, ...

Selection o raw materials: recyclable packaging, selection o local suppliers

Li e Cycle AnalysisLi e Cycle Analysis is regarded as the ultimate means by which all environmentalimpacts are measured and improved upon during a products li e cycle includingmanu acture, delivery, installation, cost o ownership and maintenance, ultimatedisposal/recycling o all products.All new Gerflor product ranges are developed using a full life cycle analysismodel. In Europe, Ger lor is actively involved with the ERFMI (European Resilient

Flooring Manu acturer Institute) in preparing EU wide Li e Cycle Assessment oa broad range o looring types and speci ications. From this study, a series oEnvironmental Product Declarations have been produced.

In France, Ger lor has been involved with the SFEC to meet the HQErequirements.

In the UK, all Ger lor products which match the BRE generic looringspeci ications have been given either A or A+ ratings, with A+ representing thelowest environmental impact possible.

Ger lor recognizes the importance o being proactive and creating new ways to achieve sustainabledevelopment. This is why Ger lor is devoting substantial resources to environmental research.Gerflor achievements can be summarized as follows:

Health & Sa ety

Vinyl is widely used in the automotive, food packaging and healthcare wheremedical disposables come into close and intimate contact with patients. Geroruses this same high grade raw material to produce its oorcoverings to standardsthat exceed all prescribed health and sa ety reguirements. Selection of raw materials : no heavy metals, no solvent based inks, no

phtalates and components rated as carcinogenic, no formaldehydes, no PCP. No substance potentially subject to any REACH (Registration, Evaluation and

Authorisation o Chemical) restrictions. Low VOC emissions : on average more than 70 % lower than European

standards. Fire resistance : vinyl does not help fre spread and does not release toxic gases

like choride (Cl2) and ar less carbon monoxide (CO) than any other type oooring.

RecyclingVinyl is one o the only building materials that is 100% recyclable . Unlike otherplastics, it can be endlessly recycled into new products and materials adding valuethroughout its long li e.As a specialist vinyl ooring manu acturer, Geror has developed recyclingprograms or : Post industrial waste recycling: almost 100% o our manu acturing waste is

recycled. Post installation waste recycling: in Europe Geror has started to organize the

collection of post installation waste from large projects. Our training centerGeror Technocentre is the frst training center to organize the completerecycling loop or all post installation waste.

Post consumer waste recycling: Geror vinyl oorings are ully recyclable at

the end o their li e and quali y or credits under many internationally accreditedGreen Building Schemes. Geror was also one o the ounding members o thefrst vinyl oor covering recycling workshop: AgPR. End o li e oors get recycledto manu acture, second li e products such as road cones.
