Shawn Heffernan with one of the protective enclosures made by the Cape Abilities “Turtle Team” in Eastham as part of a partnership with Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. The enclosures are used in terrapin nesting areas to protect the tiny turtle hatchlings from predators. Cape Abilities has provided Audubon with sturdy, handcrafted enclosures for a number of years, saving thousands of endangered terrapins. Our partnership is just one way Cape Abilities gives back to the community and provides participants with opportunities for involvement.
