burgers10hoursaweek(whilestillgettingmystraightAsinschool)tohelpmymotherpaytherent!Iwas

actuallypayingrentof$200amonthatage13.Ididnt

realizeuntilmanyyearslaterthatthiswasnotanormal

responsibilityfora13-year-oldinourculture.Ieven

hadtopayformyownBatMitzvah.

Iwasvaledictorianofbothelementaryandhigh

schoolandgraduatedhighschoolattheageof15.Ihave

alwaysexcelledatwhateverIsetmymindtodoingyet

inearlyadulthoodIsufferedfrommanyhealth

problems.Imovedaroundalot(13timesin12years!),

changingjobsandcareersliketheywereanewoutfit.

Secretary.Waitress.Engineer.Journalist.Scriptwriter

YetnomatterhowhardIworked,Iseemedto

barelyscrapeby.Icouldntevenpaybackmystudent

concept,in1993,IinventedaromanticboardgamecalledPassionPlay!,whichThePlayboyCataloguecalled

designandart,andwesoldoursexygameslikehot

cakes.YetIlost$50,000onthebusinessandhadtofile

bankruptcybecausetheprinterrippedusoff,the

fulfillmentcompanyoverchargedus,thegamescosttoo

muchtoproduce,andsoon.

Doyouseeapatternhere?Smart,creative,go-

getter.Dreamsbig.Notafraidtotakerisks.YetI

couldntseemtokeep,asmyJewishgrandmother

wouldsay,twoshekelstorubtogether.

Whatswrongwiththispicture?Ithrewmyself

enthusiasticallyintoandexcelledat-whateverIdid.I

knewIhadbrains,IbelievedIcouldsucceed,yet

incredibly,attheageof29,Iwasstillsick,myfirst

marriageturnedabusive,Iwasinmassivedebtandnot

verysatisfiedwithmylife.

Andfrom1994totoday,Ihaveaddedmany

certificationsandcredentialsalongthewayasacertifiedclinicalhypnotherapist,Third-DegreeReiki

Master,ordainedinterfaithministerandspiritual

counselor.Workingfromanintuitiveperspective,Ican

honestlysaythatmostoftheknowledgeandguidanceI

useinallmyworkcomes,notfromallmyprofessional

trainings,butfrommyever-growingconnectionto

TheconnectionwithSpiritthatIwasblessedto

Myhusband,whoisthesweetestmanontheplanet

butwhodidnothavehis3rdeyeandearopentothe

degreethatIhad,wasconvincedthat:Ifwedontbuy

thishousenow,wellnevergetanotherchancelike

GRATITUDE Is the Attitude of Plentitude!

Do you know what gratitude stands for?

GREAT+ATTITUDE=GRATITUDE!

The best way to keep the faucet of blessings in your life open and flowing is togive abundant, heartfelt thanks for all the blessings you already have. Plus, it'sjust good manners to give thanks for any gift, and Spirit has given you so much!

Gratitude is a blessing magnet. Sage and Archangel Michael

Three Gratitude Exercises

1. The 10 Breaths of Gratitude

Take 10 breaths consciously focusing on gratitude with each breath. You cansimply think the word or concept of "gratitude" or "Thank you." Or you can thinkof a different thing to be thankful for with each breath.

Do this practice regularly. It can be fit into your day easily, when driving intraffic, when in line, when on hold, etc. If you don't have time for 10 breaths, take

5, or 3 ...

2.My feet thank the Earth

Buddhist monk and spiritual teacher Thich Nhat Hanh invites us to give thanksupon awakening as the feet first touch the Earth. Thank the Earth for supportingyou this day. Let each step you take be a gift to the Earth, massaging your homewith love, even as with each step the Earth caresses and blesses you. This is alsoa Native American practice. You may also bend to touch the Earth orkiss the Earth. You may also reach upward to thank the Sky for the air youbreathe.

3. Nightly Gratitude

In this exercise, every night you say aloud (or silently or whispering) a prayer ofthanks. Just before you fall asleep, picture in your mind all the things you have tobe grateful for. Instead of counting sheep, you are counting blessings!Here are some categories you may include. So many blessings abound! Things toBe Grateful for:

I like to end my prayer with:"And thank you for everything else I am forgetting to thank you for!" It doesn'thurt to be inclusively appreciative!

During your day, you will find yourself making a mental list of things to givethanks for that night. You will notice that your appreciation and awareness oflife's joys will increase tenfold.

Two things are happening (and they may be the same): 1) You are more aware ofthe blessings already around you. 2) You actually are receiving more blessings,partly because you have a Great Attitude! Either way, the result is the same:The Gratitude Cycle: More GratitudeMore JoyMore Blessings
