PRINCIPLE

� The principle of the project is to allow mother crabs that were caught by fisherman to lay their eggs in the provided cages considered as crab bank before harvesting

The revenue from gained from selling the crab � The revenue from gained from selling the crab of the bank shall be used for project activities

INCOME MODEL

� Assumption:

� 10 members per group

� Each member catches 200 crabs/month

� 5% catches (10 female crabs) sold to crab bank5% catches (10 female crabs) sold to crab bank

� Crab growth rate:�1 crab release 600 eggs after 2 weeks

�Mortality 50% = 300 young crabs

�Mother crab fattened and ready for sale after egg released

�Young Crab reach market size after 3 months (300g)

INCOME CALCULATION (TOTAL FOR 10 MEMBERS)

� Total value/sale of female after egg released (10 X 10 X 300g at RM10/kg = RM300)

� Sale of remaining 190 crabs per member (190 X 10 X 300g = RM5700)

� After 3 months crab population = 100 X 300 young crabs = 30000 crabs

� Assuming only catch potential of 30% = 9000 crabs
