    1. Precautionary Labels

To prevent danger to humans and serious accidents, observe the following.

    WARNINGS

Unless indicated otherwise, be sure to turn off the power switch before

maintenance work, and disconnect the power plug from the outlet.

Even if the power switch is OFF, 100 to 240VAC (differs according to

machine specications) will still be supplied to the primary input terminal of

the unit if the power cable is connected, and this may result in possible

    electric hazards.

As neckties, scarves, and necklaces may get caught in the unit during work,

remove these items or take precautions against such accidents.

Never modify the unit unless otherwise specied.

Modication of the safety unit (interlock, breaker, temperature fuse, etc.)

will cause serious problems as it is not only dangerous but violates the

    related laws and regulations.

    CAUTIONS

The grounding wire must be connected.

To avoid damages to the parts/units due to static discharge, use a wrist

strap putting one end on your wrist and the other end on the grounded

section of the equipment, as illustrated below.

When doing so, make sure to unplug the line cord plug to avoid electrical

hazards if using a PC in which the power is energized to the internal power

supply or circuits when it is inserted into an outlet.

    Safety precautions (Control Unit)

Follow the precautions below when installing, using, and servicing the control unit

    (PC).

See the Users Guide provided for details on the control unit.

    Input voltage : 90V to 135V (60Hz) or 180V to 265V (50Hz)

    Electric hazard prevention :

The power cord of the control unit and monitor uses a 3-pin

plug. Connect it to a properly grounded power outlet. When

using an extension cord, use a 3-line type with a grounding pin.

    Place of installation :

Avoid places where dust and foreign particles may enter inside

    through the computer opening.

Avoid installing near heaters and heat sources.

When installing directly on the oor, ensure that a 5cm or more

distance is secured between the equipments bottom face and

    the oor.

Precautions when working on internal parts of the control unit :

    (1) Turn off the power of the PC, monitor, and other peripheral devices.

    (2) Disconnect the power cord from the outlet to prevent electric hazard.

    (3) Open the I/O panel on the rear of the PC, touch the metallic part to fully

discharge body static electricity before accessing.

    (4) When removing the board and memory module, etc., hold them without

directly touching the connectors and pins and place them in a static

    electricity prevention package.

    Safety Precautions (LCD monitor)

    WARNING

High voltage is applied inside the LCD monitor. To prevent electric hazards and danger, the LCD monitors internal parts

    cannot be accessed.

The LCD monitor does not consist of parts serviceable by the service

    engineer.

The unit is also pasted with precautionary labels. Follow the instructions on the

    labels when carrying out work.

    REFERENCE

4.1 DataFlowbetweenRUandConsoleThe exchange of data between the RU and Console is described below.

    4.1.1 DataFlowduringRoutineProcessing

    Flowofimagedata

The image data read from the IP is stored in the SDRAM of the CPU board, and

transferred to the Console via the network.

    Flowoflogdata

The log data is written into the FTP server upon RU shutdown processing or

upon occurrence of a FATAL error. The log data is retained in the FTP server until a certain amount of that data is

reached, and, once that amount is exceeded, the data is overwritten on a rst-in,

    RecoveryfromSleepMode

    Recoverrequirements

    Press the stand-by switch.

    Processinguponrecovery

Upon recovery from the Sleep mode, the RU performs a home-positioning

    operation of the suction arm.

In addition, the initial self-diagnosis of the mechanical components takes place, aswell as home-positioning of the RU suction arm, under one of the following

    conditions.

The mechanical components are located at other than the home positions.

One of sensors detects an IP.

A cassette is set in the RU.

    4.4 RUBootupProcessing

The following self-diagnoses are carried out after the power is turned ON.

Connection verication between the RU and the Console is also carried out

    concurrently with the self-diagnoses.

    InitializationoftheMechanicalComponents

The initialization of the mechanical components consists of the following ve

    stages.

    BeforeIPsearchstage

The cassette cover opening mechanism is moved to the reference position, and

the suction arm is moved to the home position.

    IPsearchstage

The motor is rotated by an appropriate amount to convey the IP to a position where

it can be conrmed by the sensor, on the assumption that the IP is located at a

position where it cannot be detected by the sensor within the machine.

    AfterIPsearchstage

The suction arm is moved to the home position.

    RemainingIPejectionstage

When an IP is found within the machine during the IP search stage, its size is

measured and the IP is returned to the cassette. If a cassette is not set in the RU,

the message prompting to set an empty cassette appears.

    AfterremainingIPejection

The self-diagnosis of the cassette cover closing mechanism is carried out, and the

    cassette hold is released.

    InitializationoftheScannerMechanismThe scanner mechanism is initialized.

For errors occurring while the CR-IR 391CL is being used, take appropriate

countermeasures following the error codes (and error messages) listed herein.

See 2. Using the Event Viewer.

1.1 Referring to Error Messages Event (error code) and event source name

When an error occurs, use the event and event source name information to

    separate the assumed causes.

The event and event source name are displayed in the Source and Event

columns of the Event Viewer main window shown below.

    Source column Event ID column

    00000072.ai

Meaning of the event (error code)

A ve-digit code displayed in the Event column implies the following.

    A : Error-detected process

1: Module used in common in the system/indicator/user

    authentication/Client Utility

    2: Main process/routine/study list

Unspecied data entered from networks. (An error implying thatthe system can be continued being substituted by the default).

    3 : InformationSimple information

Information that the system development section wishes to keep.
