CPR Certification beginning Fall 2020 Applies to whom: All new and continuing students in programs with a CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requirement. Also, all personnel in such clinical programs. As of FA20, those programs include: Nursing: PN, AAS, BS programs Massage Therapy Medical Assisting Medical Imagining: Rad Tech, DMS, Echo Surgical Technology What is the requirement: Certification in Basic Life Support CPR that fulfills ILCOR standards. From what provider: Any provider (AHA, Red Cross, etc) that meets ILCOR standards. Note this is an expansion of providers for the 2020-21 academic year. In what format: Hybrid (online didactic coursework with hands-on skills competency) OR traditional classroom based models for the full training. Online only is NOT accepted. Changes take effect when: For new students matriculating (or new employees starting contracts) FA20 and continuing students/employees whose certifications expire in the FA20 semester or beyond Why this change: to allow greater flexibility in accepting CPR certification that conforms to recognized guidelines; to allow greater flexibility in acquisition of the credential; to recognize shifts in the WNY medical community in allowing certification from major providers meeting guidelines and using more online tools. CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers Workforce Development: Lifelong Learning Full Course This course is for healthcare professionals that covers adult and pediatric CPR (including two rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask), foreign-body airway obstruction (both conscious and unconscious), automated external defibrillation, special resuscitation situations, and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. The textbook is required. It must be read prior to and brought to class. Textbook Information: BLS Textbook for Healthcare Providers (#15-1010 – Worldpoint ECC) – available at the College Bookstore.

Full Course-$87.00 Skills Portion Only Students who choose to go take the skills portion only through Trocaire College have already registered and completed the online lecture portion for the Basic Life Support Course through the American Heart Association. Online Component: https://cpr.heart.org/en/courses/basic-life-support-course-options Upon Successful completion of the online lecture, t he student MUST bring the completed proper certificate to the skills portion. (Note: Without the physical printed certificate of completion the student will NOT be permitted to the skills portion. The skills portion will take 1-2 hours and will be subject to the same 6 safety precautions. Skills Portion Only-$58 ALL CPR Classes will be held at the Trocaire Achievement Complex 6681 Transit Road Williamsville, NY 14221
