Why C³PO started

Facts / opportunities observed:

- Five billion people likely to be living in cities by 2020

- City design becomes complex, everything is impacting everything

- Urbanisation challenges posed to cities are immense

- IT starts providing opportunities at affordable cost for cities

- Opportunity for smart support of the urban development never been greater

Clear need to

- Mitigate risk through better planning and prediction

- Integrate new ecological context

- Mediate a range of stakeholders with vested interests engaged in the urban

development

Tackle the challenges confronted by urban design by ICT through a

Cloud collaborative and semantic platform for city co-design

Covers the whole urban project development process where cities empower, encourage and guide different stakeholders to develop an urban project together.

Involves citizens, decision makers, architects, etc.
