This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications. You will learn the basic foundations and content to develop the skills and knowledge used in the building and construction industry to efficiently produce quality work. You will also learn about safe work practices and about the context of the building industry. Occupational titles may include: Carpenter and Carpenter & Joiner.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be a minimum age of 13 years old. This qualification is delivered under the Australian Apprenticeship Program. Students must be employed in an apprenticeship to undertake this training program. School-based students not enrolled in years 10, 11 or 12 may be eligible to enter a school based apprenticeship provided there are exceptional circumstances warranting consideration and all other entry requirements are met, including being of an age where it is legal to undertake paid employment.
As a general rule, only Australian citizens and New Zealand citizens who have entered Australia on a valid passport have unrestricted rights to employment in Australia. Visa holders may engage in apprenticeships or traineeships provided their work rights allows this, based on information and advice provided by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to be supplied by each apprentice (Protective footwear, long sleeve shirt, safety glasses and hearing protection) as well as a calculator, pen and paper. Course Requirements
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in 30 units of competency - 22 core units and 8 elective units. Delivery Modes

Nominal term of this Apprenticeship is 48 months, the expected duration is 42 months. This apprenticeship can be offered full time, part time and school-based. Casual is not permitted in Queensland. Course Fees
