Dear Fans,

The Canaries and the American Association are thrilled to bring professional baseball back to Sioux Falls in 2020. While the coronavirus pandemic presents plenty of challenges, we’ve created a nine-step plan, outlined here, to help our fans enjoy the game safely. We are in frequent communication with the City of Sioux Falls and intend to abide by all federal, state, and local COVID-19 guidelines.

In the meantime, continue to wash your hands, wear face coverings when out in public, and practice social distancing. We look forward to seeing you back at the Birdcage for our season opener on July 3. Go Birds!

STEP 1: CASHLESS PAYMENT• The Canaries are working with current and new partners to encourage cashless payment for

fans at Sioux Falls Stadium. Cash will still be accepted, but cashless payment will be encour-aged to limit direct contact between employees and guests.

STEP 2: STADIUM SANITATION• The Canaries have worked to develop new cleaning protocols for all public and employee areas

throughout the stadium.• The Canaries have added hand sanitizing stations throughout the stadium for public and em-

ployee use.• The Canaries will conduct temperature checks for all staff members (full time or part time) as

well as contracted third-party staff members and interns prior to entering the ballpark.• All fan-engaging employees will be required to wear personal protective gear.• Employees will be required to wear gloves and masks when handing items to fans.• The Canaries will conduct ongoing training to educate staff on new, updated guidelines and

procedures.

STEP 3: STADIUM SEATING• The Canaries have worked closely with Ticketmaster to re-create existing stadium seating mani-

fest to allow for proper distancing, while decreasing overall ballpark capacity• Rows and seats will remain vacant to maintain proper distancing

STEP 4: CLUBHOUSE & ON-FIELD PERSONNEL• In order to ensure the safest possible environment for players, the Canaries will work closely

with the American Association and its members to implement the following standards: - Increased cleanliness in the home and visiting clubhouses - Increased cleanliness in the home and visiting dugouts - Added restrictions to clubhouse access - Additional precautions for all food and beverage entering the clubhouse• The Canaries will follow the guidance of American Association regarding player and on-field

personnel health and safety, including travel and fan/media interaction.

STEP 5: SIOUX FALLS STADIUM ENTRY/EXIT• Fans should ask themselves these questions before coming to the ballpark: Have you had a

fever recently? Cough? Sore throat? Body aches?• The Canaries will work closely with local law enforcement to encourage proper distancing upon

entry, including walkways and sidewalks leading to ballpark entrances• Spacing markers will promote proper distancing between customers waiting in lines

STEP 6: PURCHASING TICKETS• Select ticket windows will be closed to ensure proper distancing between patrons.• Spacing markers will be placed to signify proper distancing between customers waiting in lines.

STEP 7: FAN EXPERIENCEKids Zone

• The Canaries’ traditional Kids Zone, consisting of bounce houses will not be in operation during the 2020 season.

Restrooms• Doors will be propped open to encourage touchless entry/exit.• Restrooms will be sanitized frequently throughout every event and will be disinfected thoroughly

after each event.Team Store

• The Canaries will limit the amount of people that are allowed in the store based on current social distancing guidelines.

On-Field Activities• Autograph sessions with players on Sunday games will not take place in 2020• Players will not be permitted to throw baseballs or other items into the stands• All between-inning promotions will follow social distancing guidelines

Medical Services• The Canaries will work closely with community partners to implement stringent protocols for all

stadium events

STEP 8: FOOD & BEVERAGE• The Canaries will continue to work closely with our concessionaire partner, Spectra Food Ser-

vice and Hospitality, to develop and implement the safest standards possible.• All employees will be required to wear protective masks and gloves.• All surfaces inside the concession stands and kitchens will be cleaned before, during, and after

all events.• Spectra Food Service and Hospitality and the Canaries have partnered with FanFood, which will

allow for mobile ordering/payment from your seat. Once the order is placed, you will receive a text that your order is ready for pick up. Designated windows will be clearly marked at the con-cession stands to assure quick, safe, and easy pick-up of your food & beverage

• Spectra Food Service and Hospitality will focus on selling packaged beverage options.

STEP 9: UP-TO-DATE COMMUNICATION• Increased signage will be placed around the stadium to remind fans to abide by current social

distancing guidelines.• Frequent social media reminders will raise awareness of best practices for fans and guests visit-

ing Sioux Falls Stadium.• Public address announcements throughout events will promote proper cleanliness, distancing

and similar health practices.
