Sheep and lice

We generally associate the act of anointing with oil

There is nothing special or magical about the oil we use

Instead, much like communion, the act of anointing is a symbolic gesture reminding us of the God we serve and our destiny according to His will

What is so significant about smearing?

Page 8: Covered under the Anointing slides

For us as believers it holds great significance, summed up perfectly in 1 word: Consecrate

Sanctify – Set Apart (John 17v17-19)

Bless (Matthew 5v3-12, Proverbs 10v6)

Jesus was mentioned to be the head (Ephesians 4v15) of this intricate Body of Christ

He is the is the spearhead of what we as a church strive to obtain, as He was the perfect example to us

He was referred to as ‘The Anointed One’ because though the fulfillment of His purpose, we have all been given the opportunity to accomplish our own

We each have a calling and responsibility to ensure the seamless functionality of the Body

Jesus was destined to die for you and IIsaiah 61
