3/2017 to Present Assistant Chief

Serve as Assistant Chief of Patrol Region III, which is comprised of

approximately 1,000 classified personnel serving 1,000,000 residents (approx.

43% of the Houston population), with a total budget of $139,450,000. Covers

five patrol districts with the most diverse population in the City of Houston;

includes the Houston and Alief Independent School Districts, where more than

80 languages and dialects are spoken among the students

Responsible for five patrol divisions and the Mental Health Division

Coordinated and implemented an analysis to reallocate patrol staffing

according to demands to increase effectiveness and officer safety

Works with outside agencies to address inefficiencies with the criminal

justice system

Commanded field operations and directed the department’s operation center

during civil disturbances and protest marches during summer of 2020

Managed the Department Operations Center throughout Hurricane Harvey

Served as division commander of the Vehicular Crimes Division

Restructured the Crash Reconstruction Unit to bring a greater level of case

integrity and investigative accuracy to our fatality crash investigations

Assembled a unified response to intoxication manslaughter cases

with the DAs Office to ensure successful investigation and

prosecution of these cases

Implemented training for patrol to increase the safety for officers

responding to freeway crash scenes

Supervised the Auto Dealers Detail

Responsible for regulating the automotive industry in the City of

Houston. This industry is comprised of over 6,000 businesses, 65 storage

lots and 1,200 wrecker drivers.

regulatory process of the SafeClear Program
