Re: Follow Up Submission of Site Improvement Project at Joseph Pennell Elementary School

Dear Ms. Berryman,

I am pleased to submit the enclosed revised submission package for proposed site improvements for Joseph Pennell Elementary School at 1800 W. Nedro Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19141 in the Belfield neighborhood of Philadelphia. This second submission is in response to the Philadelphia Art Commission Decision Form dated June 3, 2020.

Per your remarks listed on the Decision Form, SALT has prepared additional submission materials, including perspective renderings and section elevations which show details such as material types, tree locations, and play equipment heights. Additionally, we have provided the Planting Plan with Plant Schedule at 90% completion, which further describes tree species and locations. Also included is a plan showing a Visual Assessment of Existing Concrete Pavement and the Demolition Plan which shows information regarding earth disturbance and areas for selective concrete pavement removal. For reference, the following page includes an updated Site Plan Rendering which shows the site improvements in their entirety.

5. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING CONSTRUCTION FENCING ANDMAINTAINING A SAFE AND SECURE SITE THROUGHOUT ALL PHASES OF DEMOLITIONAND CONSTRUCTION.

6. LOCATION OF CONSTRUCTION STAGING AREA TO BE DETERMINED. CONTRACTORSHALL ERECT CONSTRUCTION FENCING AROUND STAGING AREA AND ENSURE AREAIS SECURE THROUGHOUT DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
