Introduction to Working in the Film and Television industryGet ahead and find out what working in the media industry is all about.

On this introductory course you will look at the way the industries are financed, the technology that is used and the importance of audience. Discuss basic creative skills involved in the production of the moving image such as camera work and editing techniques and look at job roles and transferable skills required to work in the industry.

Writing for Pleasure or ProfitLearn how to make money from your writing and effective ways to think about writing articles whether for pleasure or profit.

With support and guidance from an experienced published author, on this course you will explore how to increase your chances of writing pieces that will get you published and paid! This might be competitions, magazine articles or Ezines. You will explore where to gather your inspiration as well as looking at how photographs can increase your chances of sales.

Intensive Functional Skills Maths This intensive qualification course is for people wishing to go to into further education or improve their employment opportunities.

In order to achieve on this course, which is normally run for 26 weeks, you will have already studied either Functional Skills or GSCE maths and will have grasped the fundamentals at entry level. You will need to be committed and attend regularly and punctually, as well as prepared to complete work outside of the lesson.

Sewing for WellbeingDo you have a sewing machine and struggle with using it?

We can help on this course aimed at beginners. Bring along your sewing machine and learn how to use it. You will learn a variety of basic sewing skills including sewing seams, fitting a zip, creating a button hole etc. You will create different projects each week in a fun and friendly environment. Some machines available for loan, please let us know in advance if you need one.

NB: your own sewing machine must be less than 2 years old or serviced annually.

Life Hacks for Healthy LivingImprove your physical and mental health with some key ‘life hacks’ and focus on achieving health goals.

Each week will include a new recipe to try at home and some light exercise which is adjusted to suit the ability of the learners.

Learn about: the importance of physical activity in everyday life, the benefits of nutrition in maintaining health, the science of giving and taking notice.
