GEN5 Courses for Adults Examination Course Overview The Examination Course is designed to prepare students for one of the following examinations: Cambridge Preliminary English Test, Cambridge First Certificate, Cambridge Advanced Certificate, or the IELTS examination. Students wishing to do an examination should start their Cambridge preparation course 12 weeks prior to the examination date and their IELTS course 4 weeks prior to the examination date. Timetable Monday - Friday mornings Group Tuition with two different teachers. 09:00 - 11:00: Teacher 1 - Grammar and Use of Language Specific preparation in examination skills. 11:00 - 11:15: mid-morning break 11:15 - 13:15: Teacher 2 - Speaking, Listening and writing Skills specific to the examination Additional practice for the Listening and Speaking components of the exam is provided on some afternoons during the weeks leading up to the examination. Teachers also assign work to be completed in the language laboratory outside of class time and a tutor is available to assist with this. Courses for Adults

Tuition Hours20 x 60 minute group lessons = 20 hours’ group tuition per week.

LevelsAll the Examination Courses are only available subject to a minimum number of 6 participants for each level. Students should begin their Cambridge course 12 weeks prior to the examination dates and their IELTS course 4 weeks prior.

We cannot accept students for any examination course until we have confirmed that they are at an appropriate level to join the class.

TextbooksWe use the most up-to date textbooks and teaching materials. Textbooks are not included in the course fee. Students can purchase textbooks from the school or from recommended bookstores in the city centre. Textbooks cost approximately €35. We can include the cost of a first book in your invoice on request.

AvailabilityPlease check availability with the Institute before confirming any courses. Once the booking is confirmed students can begin their course on the fixed start dates.
