Transcript of Courses

PHYS-5574G Intermediate NanotechnologyMethods of controlling matter on the nanometer length scale and the applications thereof. Nanolithography, self-assembly, and scanned probe microscopy; nanomaterials including fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, and quantum dots; nanoscale and molecular electronics; nanoelectromechanical systems; nanoscale optoelectronics; and nanobiotechnology. Graduate standing required.T R5:00PM6:15PM 17T

Description of the performance characteristics and limitations of basic semiconductor electronic devices in terms of the properties of semiconductor materials and device structure. I,IIT R11:00AM12:15PMTBA11T

Topics include polymer design and processing, inflammatory responses to polymers, interaction of blood with polymeric materials, and the effect of mechanical, chemical, and surface properties of polymers on cells. The culmination of this course will provide students with the knowledge to successfully design polymer-based biomaterials, drug-delivery devices, and bio-implants. Graduate standing required.Meeting Times: DaysBeginEndLocationExam T R2:00PM3:15PMTBA14T
