REGULATION OF PROPERTY AGENTS (RoPA)The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) released a report in July 2019 of the recommendations of the Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA) Working Group. The group proposed a new regulatory framework to cover letting and managing agents in England only and estate agents across the UK.

The RoPA group recommend that all staff carrying out estate and letting agent ‘restricted activities’ be qualified to Level 3, adhere to a Code of Practice and maintain regular CPD. Be ahead of your competition and make sure you and your staff are fully trained for the impending changes to the industry.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)CPD ensures that you continue to be at the forefront of your profession, it helps with making persuasive arguments, winning instructions and progressing your career. Personal development should include membership of Propertymark which will demonstrate your professionalism, dedication, knowledge and commitment to high standards. Propertymark is committed to supporting you through offering discounts on short courses.

You qualify for membership based on your experience and qualifications; maintaining CPD is at the core of your membership, undertaking at least 12 hours’ CPD per year, with a minimum of four hours through formal educational events, including short courses. Collating and submitting evidence is a requirement of membership and your CPD can be logged via your member area on the website.
