Course Objectives1. Introduce the student to Agricultural Law.2. To encourage the student’s analysis of legal issues and concepts as applied to agriculture.3. To generate critical thinking in matters related to agricultural production, natural resources, and
environmental liability.4. To provide students with practical information that can be used personally and professionally.
AttendanceAttendance is important. The student’s success in this class will be dependent upon theirparticipation and the amount and quality of effort expended. Students will be held responsible formaterial covered in class. Subsequently, class absences can be costly. Students will be allowed two(2) unexcused class absences. Students with more than two (2) unexcused absences will be notifiedin writing and dropped a full letter grade. Roll will be taken. Students are expected to attend classif guest seminars are scheduled. Students are expected to arrive on time. For every two late arrivals,the student will be penalized one-half a letter grade.
If you miss a class and want to be excused, you must have written approval from the Dean ofStudent’s Office. The contact information is:

There are no makeup exams. Students missing an exam will
be required to take a com prehensive fina l. The score received
on this final will count not only for the final exam score; but also
for the missed exam . In short, it will be tabulated twice.
EXCEPTIONS: A comprehensive exam will not be give to those
students who notify the instructor of long standing, scheduled
medical appointm ents and of offic ially scheduled University of
Florida activities during the first week of class. Death of an
immediate family member or written documentation of a
medical appointment will also serve as an exception.

Wershow Lecture Students are required to attend the James S. and Dorothy F. WershowDistinguished Lecture on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 4:00pm in the College of Law,Ceremonial Classroom, Room 180A; grade points will be given to those attending.Grade points will be deducted for those not attending. Refreshments provided.
Extra Credit - No individual student will be given the opportunity to earn extra credit or bonus pointsunless the opportunity is extended to all students.

II. Tendering Information
! giving your work to another to be copied! giving someone answers to exam questions during the exam! after taking an exam, informing a person in another section, of questions that appear on the exam! giving or selling a term paper to another student
III. Plagiarism
! copying homework answers from your text and handing them in for a grade! quoting test or other works on an exam, term paper or homework without citation! handing in a paper purchased from a term paper service! re-typing a friend's paper and handing it in as your own! taking a paper from fraternity/sorority files and handing it in as your own
IV. Conspiracy
! planning with one or more students to comm it any from of academic dishonesty together! giving your term paper to another student who you know will plagiarize it
V. Misrepresentation
! having another student do your computer program! lying to a professor to increase your grade
VI. Bribery
! offering money, any item or service to a faculty mem ber or any other person to gain academic advantagefor yourself or another
