Please read and understand the following rules carefully. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in
you not being able to course completeThe degree requirements are:
(a) Completion of six compulsory common core units (36 credit points):
AFW1000 Principles of accounting and finance BTW1201 South African business law A ECW1101 Introductory microeconomics ETW1102 Business statistics MGW1010 Introduction to management MKW1120 Marketing theory and practice
(b) Completion of a major of at least eight units unless otherwise specified (48 credit points) in a discipline from thefaculty with at least two units (12 credit points) at each of second and third-year levels.
(c) A total of 24 units (144 credit points) over a maximum of 10 years of study.
(d) A maximum of 10 firs t-year-level units (60 credit points).
(e) A minimum of six units (36 credit points) at third-year level, of which at least four (24 credit points) must be from
those offered by the faculty on the campus delivering this program.
(f) An option to include a maximum of eight units (48 credit points) in disciplines taught by other faculties or from units
offered on campuses other than the campus delivering this program.
(g) At least four non-compulsory units (24 credit points) must be outside the main field of study.
Students are required to check prerequisites and prohibitions for units.Each unit carries 6 credit points. Prerequisites are in brackets
