Please note we do not accept AMEX or Diners. Places are limited therefore please enrol early to secure a place.Office hours Daytime: Monday–Friday 8.30am–4.30pm | Evenings: Tuesday 6.00–9.00pm

FEES AND CHARGES: Foundation Learning Centre provides students with details of all fees & charges prior to enrolment. 2020 Registration Fees - $10.00, all participants must pay an annual, non-refundable registration fee upon enrolment in their first program for the calendar year.

REFUNDS: Fee-for-Service Courses (not subsidised by govt.) Applications for refund/credit will be considered if they are received at least 10 days prior to commencement of course.

Refunds/credits will not be given 9 days prior to the start date or once a course has commenced. A $50.00 administration fee applies for all withdrawals from a course. NB: If a class is cancelled by Foundation Learning Centre the full fee will be refunded.

Pre-Accredited Courses Applications for refund/credit will be considered only if they are received prior to course commencement. A $50.00 administration fee applies for all withdrawals. Accredited Courses (delivered by Foundation Learning Centre) If you officially withdraw by notice, from an accredited Foundation Learning Centre course within 4 weeks after the scheduled commencement date of the course, you can apply for a refund of fee paid less a $50.00 administration fee. A credit/full refund will be given when the class/course is cancelled by Foundation Learning Centre.

CONCESSIONS: Foundation Learning Centre offer concessions on many of its programs. Please note there are no concession fees for non-accredited programs unless specifically stated under program costs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Foundation Learning Centre will ensure that course participants receive accurate information about: Course content, course competencies, tutors, venues, equipment, dates and times. Foundation Learning Centre has in place a Complaints and Grievance Policy. No students will attend class for more than 8 hours in one day and will not attend classes after 10.00pm. Help your child get ready for KindergartenAt Foundation Early Learning Centre we provide a 3 year old pre-kinder group where children from 3 and 4 years of age come to learn, share, and develop. The environment is caring, friendly and professional. All people serving alcohol in Victoria need this certificate which is approved by the Director of Liquor Licensing VictoriaThe RSA program covers a range of topics including: • Problems associated with excessive consumption alcohol

First Aid Response in an Education

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Congratulations to you if you have just started a family or if you are new doting Grandparents with a new career in babysitting!All parents, grandparents or babysitters of new

born babies and young toddlers should be equipped to deal with any medical emergency that may occur with your young child whilst waiting for medical help to arrive. Learn how to do CPR on Babies and Children. Practice with an AED for children or how to manage if a child is chocking. CGEA

Certificates in General Education for Adults

Certificates in General Education for Adults are widely used courses which meet the needs of a range of learners who have not achieved a full secondary education. Whilst the main focus of the courses are on building student capacity in literacy and numeracy, students also undertake a range of electives which enable them to explore topics such as owning & driving a car, health & wellbeing and Australian Culture. The CGEA courses run for two terms, 4 days per week.

VCAL

Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning

VCAL is a hands-on option for students that gives practical work related experience, as well as literacy and numeracy skills and the opportunity to build personal skills that are important for life and work. VCAL is an accredited secondary certificate which runs within the same timeframe as VCE, with each level (Foundation, Intermediate or Senior) completed in one year. Each student will spend 3 days per week on Literacy, Oral Communications, Numeracy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills, and one day undertaking a VET course of their choosing. Students will also participate in structured workplace learning as part of their course. Students are encouraged to undertake volunteer work, paid employment or further study on their day off.

Internal VET courses will incur additional costs.

All applicants are required to attend an interview with the Head of Department – Youth Education, prior to being accepted. Please call Fiona Fisher for more information on 9704 7388.

Foundation College Youth Programs are designed to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for young people who have, or are at risk of, disengaging from education in a mainstream setting. We are an accredited provider of the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning, and also deliver other courses which support the learning of young people who may not have completed Year 9 or 10.

Using adult learning principles, Foundation College provides Youth focussed programs with practical activities and excursions, and a focus on developing the students’ capacity to positively engage in their learning.

VETis (VET in schools)

Vocational Education & Training in schools

A Vocational Education & Training course is a nationally accredited training course in technical and job related skills. Covering a large number of careers and industries such as trades, office or community services work, retail, hospitality and technology. Foundation College offers students a VET courses in Community Services, Early Childhood, Business, Retail, Information Technology, Animal Studies and Salon Assistant. Students are able to select one of these that are run from our centre, to study as part of their VCAL. Foundation College VCAL students are welcome to select an external VET course operated from another RTO if they are after a specific skill.

Young Parents Education Program

The Young Parents Education Program (YPEP) offers pregnant teens and young parents the opportunity to complete their education in the flexible learning environment. Students are encouraged to bring their babies to class with them, and a fully-qualified child care support worker will be onsite during each class to assist with care.

Students will undertake a VCAL course, available in levels Intermediate and Senior. Curriculum includes classes on developing work related skills, personal development, literacy and numeracy. Integrated within these subjects will be skills and knowledge relevant to young parents.

Vogue Academy is a hairdressing education and training venue. Vogue Academy operates as a part of Foundation Learning Centre which is an established RTO that has been offering education and training to our local community for 35 years. In 2018 Vogue Academy will be offering Certificate III in Hairdressing to Apprentices along with full time Certificate III Hairdressing and Certificate II in Salon Assistant. All training is Nationally Accredited.

SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing

Full Time Qualification – 12 monthsOn completion of this certificate you will be a fully qualified hairdresser, able to gain employment in a salon, open your own salon, work as a mobile hairdresser, or work from home.

Times: Monday: 9.30am – 3.00pm Tuesday: 9.30am – 3.00pm Thursday: 10.00am – 6.00pm

SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant

Full Time Training – 12 WeeksThis qualification provides a limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.

This qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training or to gain employment as a salon assistant.

This Early Intervention Program is designed and developed to support Secondary Students and Education Organisation with address thet riggers causing these disengaged behaviour before they impact on the students, their families, teachers and their future. Supporting Youth who have experienced poor transition and display disruptive classroom behaviours in years 7, 8 and 9 with changing their perception around learning and their whole school experience.

INTRO TO ADMIN

Introduction to Admin course addressing hands-on learning of practical skills for support roles within the office administration.

Duration: 1 Session Course Dates: Friday 6th March Friday 15th May 9.30am - 2.30pm Cost: $20.00 concession

GETTING ON IN THE WORKPLACE

Am I ready for work? What is expected of me? Working well with others. This course addresses these issues and is hands on interactive learning of practical skills for all employment environments.

WORK PREPARATION PROGRAM

Work Preparation Program addresses hands-on interactive learning of practical skills for all employment environments. Sessions run every Wednesday. This is an ongoing course, so you can commence anytime.· Employment impacting assessments· Am I ready to work?· Being safe at work· What’s expected in the workplace· Working well with others· Teamwork· Interview process· Mock interview day

Duration: 5 Sessions Starts: Wednesday 19th February, and ongoing throughout the year 9.30am - 3.30pm Cost: $40.00 concession

HALL HIRE

At FLC we have a hall that can be hired for private functions on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sundays. The hall can seat up to 230 people and comes with tables and chairs as well as a commercial kitchen.

ROOM HIRE

We have the perfect rooms available for your community get together, business seminar or training. Our rooms cater for groups as small as 4 people to up to 50 people. In addition, rooms also have audio visual capabilities which are available on request.
