Remarks: 64-81: Site in process of being leveled. 7-9-81: Site needs a bit more leveling and smoothing: according to Chris Hoff ( the dirt
man) the farmer is willing to seed; road is to remain; no dry hole marker on site. 5-1-81: 340' supply well was drilled 255' north of oil test. No cement around casing.
Water test approximately 450 ppm TDS & low calcium. Land leasor requests the road and well be left.
1-7-82: In letter also asked for two copies of all geologic data. 8-5-82: Telephoned Larry Tschirhart, he said he would look at site, fix and let me know
when to re-inspect. 12-30-82: Chris Hoff phoned to say site OK now but I think we should wait until the
ground is thawed in spring and then re-inspect..

ZONES OF INTEREST
Charles - 5222' - 5262' This zone had a drilling break of 1 minute to 2
minutes per foot for 40 feet. There was fair to good intercrystalline
porosity in a fine sucrosic limestone. A slow yellow-white streaming
cut was observed throughout the sample. No gas increase was recorded.
THIS IS A POOR TO FAIR SHOW
Mission Canyon - 5354' - 5372' This interval had a drilling break of 2 min.
per foot for 18 feet. Fair to good porosity was seen in fine
sucrosic limestone, and fair porosity in very vuggy limestone.
There was a slow to medium streaming yellow-white cut fluoresence.
No gas was observed.
THIS IS A POOR SHOW
Mission Canyon 5456' - 5462' A slight drilling break was seen in this zone
of fine sucrosic liMestone. The porosity was poor and samples showed
a very slow milky yellow-white cut fluoresence. No gas was recorded.
THIS IS A VERY POOR SHOW
Mission Canyon 5508' - 5514' A 2 min. per foot drilling break was recorded,
yielding a poor to non existant porosity. Traces of mily white-
yellow cut fluorescence were observed. No gas increases were seen.
THIS IS A VERY POOR SHOW
Lodgepole 5670' - 5680' Fine to medium sucrosic limestone contributed to
this drilling break of 10 feet. Poor to fair intercrystalline
porosity yielded a fast streaming yellow-white cut fluoresence.
No gas increase was observed.
THIS IS A POOR TO FAIR SHOW
Red River "B" 6920' - 6932' There was an increase of drill rate for 12 feet
of to 1 min. per foot. The samples contained a very clear fine
sucrosic limestone that was vuggy inpart, and had poor to fair
porosity. A trace of faint blue residual fluoresence was observed in
a small portion of this sample. No gas increases were sepn.
THIS IS A VERY POOR SHOW

WELL SUMMARY
The South Dakota State 16 - 1,Drilled by The Cockrell Oil Corporation,
was spudded on 6 April 1981, drilling a 12 1/4" hole to 2012'. 8 5/8" casing was run, and then a 7 7/8" hole was drilled to a total depth of
8045'. Total depth by Electric logs was 8062'.
The major zones of interest in the Charles and Mission Canyon yeilded
minor shows in the samples, and contained water when tested. The Lodgepole
formation had a small porosity zone which also yeilded water on a DST. The
Red River formation had a minor show in the. "B" zone. The "A", "C", and "D"
zones had no shows. sample or gas. After T.D. was reached, a straddle test
was run in the Red River "B", with fresh water and no hydrocarbons being
recovered.
A minor objective, the Deadwood formation, showed a clean beach sand
with no traces of oil.
There were problems with lost circulation, and minor problems with
bridging during E - Logs, but Lost Circulation material solved the fluid
loss problems, and the E - Logs were successfully completed.
With no zones of production, the hole was plugged. Cement plugs were
run as follows: 7622' - 35 sacks, 6912' - 40 sacks, 5618' - 35 sacks,
5320' - 35 sacks, 4316' - 35 sacks, 3610' - 35 sacks, 2830' - 35 sacks,
surface - 35 sacks.
