BSE HONORS SUBHASH CHANDRA ON COMPLETION OF 20 YEARS OF ZEE

Subhash Chandra, Chairman, ZEE & Essel Group was honored by Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for completing 20 years of ZEE. The function was �lled with the presence of all senior dignitaries which included the likes of Shri S Ramadorai, Chairman, BSE, Ashish Chauhan, CEO, BSE, Vallabh Bhansali, Prashant Jain, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Ridham Desai and many other senior people from the Banking and Investor Community.

Subhash Chandra, Chairman, ZEE spoke of the journey of ZEE for the last 20 years. He highlighted the unknown by talking about how he in�uenced and changed the way people look at their lives be it business or personal. On his plans for the next 20 years, he explained them to be driven by the dynamism of the industry. He said, he could only talk of the next 20 years but only for the next 5-7 years. He added by saying that at ZEE, the viewership is aimed to rise from 670 million to become 1 billion before 2020.

When asked about how he thought of bringing Entertainment to people's home, he said that the group had entered the Entertainment Business through our Amusement Park – Essel World. But the need was to bring Entertainment closer to home and our efforts began. Hence, they thought

of placing 550 vans across the country to be played at a given time. But then, they were told that this would lead to a breakout by Cinema Owners. Next they thought of using old barges in the sea to telecast programs on big screens even that failed. But, they did not give up, next they thought of going up to the Nepal Border and beaming the programs from there. Finally when they took the suggestion of a good technician from DoorDarshan, Satellite was the only answer.

The event started by the lighting of Lamp ceremony from Mr. Subhash Chandra. This was followed by Welcome Address by Ashish Chauhan and Keynote Address by Shri S Ramadorai further Punit Goenka felicitated Shri S. Ramodorai and Ashok Chauhan. To conclude, there was an interactive session on 'Investment Outlook in the Media Sector', followed by Q&A. The event ended with Vote of Thanks by Punit Goenka followed by a gala dinner for all dignitaries. The function was covered LIVE on Zee Business.

Zee TV was the No 1 across GEC's with 283 GRPs (CS4+ ) and 266 (Digital 4 +) as per Week 33 TAM ratings. Zee TV's 'DID L'il Masters 2' �ve �nalists Faisal Khan, Om Chetry, Rohan Parkale, Soumya Rai and Jeet Das became the biggest stars on the small screen. Since its opening week, the show has been the No 1 non-�ction show across Indian television and the biggest launch of the year. It has once again emerged as India's favorite show with a blockbuster Grand Finale having the highest ever �nale rating since 2010.

The launch of 'Ramayan…Jeevan Ka Adhar' on Zee TV at 11 am on Aug 12 has also got a huge audience response. The Sunday morning timeslot -11 am to 12 noon that Ramayan airs on has grown four-and-half times for Zee TV. 'Ramayan…Jeevan Ka Adhar' has opened with a TVR of 2.9 on Zee TV + DD National.

Zee Cafe led the English GEC genre in both C&S and Digital TG with 3.4 and 6.4 GRPs respectively; leaving its closest competitors far behind with 2.9 and 5.5 GRP's this quarter.

Shows like Just for Laughs, The Mentalist, Make it or Break it, America's Funniest Home Videos have been the top performing shows for Zee Café (Source - TAM, CS AB 15-44, 5 Metros, Week 34).

ZEE TV PRESENTED HERO ‘SA RE GA MA PA 2012’

ZEE LAUNCHED ZEEQ – THE FIRST EDUTAINMENT CHANNEL OF INDIA

Engagement is clearly the mantra on Zee TV's new season of 'HERO Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012'! Previous editions of the show over the last 17 years has had viewers swear to it being India's only credible music reality show that presents superlative, young talent who have gone on to make a mark in the music industry. On its return after 2 years, this new season brings in a far more enriching and entertaining experience.

The show this year showcased many interactive elements like innovative mobile and online

applications that drew the viewer to the show with riveting music-related content. Packed with some unbelievable voices, a panel of renowned judges and an assembly of skilled musicians, 'HERO Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012' premiered onZee TV on 29th September at 9 PM and is airedon weekends

ZeeQ , the �rst Edutainment Channel of India was launched on October 16 to take care of the needs of children by fostering the curiosity through fun and entertainment. The channel is to offer a mix of home produced and acquired content.

ZeeQ will address the educational need gaps through engaging content. ZeeQ is the 32nd channel from ZEE, which will manage ZeeQ's broadcast operations, while Zee Learn will look after the content and channel management.

The programming and scheduling approach of ZeeQ's content is geared to help children with subliminal education while keeping them

engaged in never-before edu-tainment fashion.

The need for and relevance of a channel such as ZeeQ with its quality content will help in digitization. The fact that it is being distributed on India's leading DTH & Digital Cable Platforms will help it reach and educate millions of potential viewers.

We have strengthened our dominant position in the regional genre by launching India's one and only 24-hour Bangla Movie Channel – 'Zee Bangla Cinema' in September.

ZEE's pioneering presence in the regional space would be further segmented with the addition of this new movie channel.
