Noun naming things that we cannot count ( uncountable ormass nouns) have no indefinite article, and usually do plural.
Such as : ink, water, wood etc.
Noun naming things that we can count ( countable nouns)have indefinite article ( a, an, the) can be in form of singularor plural
Such as : a pen, two pens, an apple, two apples etc.

Put into the plural
• A dog is an animal• A potato is a vegetable• A students is not always good.• A chair is made of wood.• A husband is a man.• A pencil is like a pen.• An eye is blue or brown.• A fish can swim.• A cow gives milk• An airport is a busy place.• A motorway is a fast road for a motor-car.• A garden has a tree.• We drink tea out of a cup.

Put into singular
• Horses are animals
• Novels are the books.
• Watches are small clocks
• Tables are pieces of furniture.
• Roses are beautiful flowers.
• Frenchmen are Europeans.
• Girls wear dresses.
• There are always tables in dining-rooms.
• Exercises not always easy for begginers.
• Hungry boys eat large dinners.
• oranges are good to eat.

Add a, an, or much ( for uncountable nouns) or nothing to add where necessary
• …….table has four legs.• We can write on………paper or on…….blackboard.• ……apple has ……sweet taste.• I need ………money to pay it.• The animals and plants need ………water.• This pen need …….ink.• My mother cooks ……rice every morning.• Julia has …….. beautiful dress.• I always eat …..orange every morning.• I have to throw up …..rubbish now.
