Two way communication Two or more interpersonal relations In order to solve ones problems Through the approach of commitment To help the helpless to help themselves Behaviour Change through Communication 7. 1.Counsel = to give advise Dictionary meaning of the word counseling is that [it is kind of a] help with personal or psychological matters usually given by a professional (Encarta Dictionary, 2009). helps you understand the causes for your problems/ crisis and guides you through the process of learning to make good life. 8. 1. Whats is Counselling ? Counseling is a helping process where one person, explicitly and purposefully gives his/her time , attention and skill to assist a client to explore the situation ,identify solutions within the limitations of their given environment 9. When Counselling? (Four) It is definitely worth considering when You are feeling overwhelmed or depressed You need someone to listen to you and help you work out whats most important You cant make important decisions and are not sure what to do next? You are helpless, vulnerable etc 14.
