Cosmetic Surgery Clinic Dr Toncic

Dr Toncic and his team opened a new clinic in a luxurious area of Zagreb in March, 2008. This crowns the success, effort and

excellence of their work. The clinic building called ‘Villa Mlinovi’ was specially designed and made for the purposes of modern

cosmetic surgery clinic.

Distinctive feature of this area is its very convenient location: it is within easy reach of the city centre (15 minutes by car) and it is also

close to the ‘Medvednica’ Nature Park, which makes it a perfect location for cosmetic surgery facility.

The clinic occupies two fl oors of the modern Villa ‘Mlinovi’. It consists of a spacious waiting room, two state-of-the-art equipped

operation rooms, patient rooms, offi ces and a conference room. The clinic also has an elevator, which is additionally adjusted for the

Mr. sc. dr. Rajko Toncic

If you pace trust in Dr. Rajko Toncic, you have chosen an experienced cosmetic surgeon who has

performed more than 15,000 operations in his surgical practice of 35 years.

Dr. Rajko Toncic graduated in 1972 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. Having obtained

his degree, he specialized in otorhinolaryngology and the pertaining part of plastic surgery at the

renowned University Clinic for Otorhinolaryngology in Cologne.

Specialization completed, he stayed on in Germany working as a resident specializing in general surgery

(a year and a half), which enabled him to improve and extend his knowledge of surgery in everyday

practice.

Upon his return to Zagreb in 1981, he worked for six years at the Clinic for Otorhinolaryngology of the

Clinical Hospital “Sisters of Mercy”. Having acquired ample surgical experience, he opened his private

cosmetic surgery in 1987 which, owing to the high level of services rendered and Dr. Toncic`s profi ciency, attracted a large number

of patients. Dr. Toncic obtained his master’s degree in Zagreb in 1996.

Dr Dinko Toncic has been applying his experience and knowledge of aesthetic surgery in Cosmetic

As a confi rmation of his successful performance and work in medicine, Dr Dinko Toncic

successfully passed his specialist examination in 2006, and ever since he has been working as an

In order to avoid even the smallest risk related to the health of our patients, we use modern medical equipment for intraoperative and

postoperative monitoring of our patient’s vital functions. As a part of our preoperative preparation, we make sure our patients have

been properly and thoroughly examined, in order to fi nd out if there is higher health risk connected with the surgical procedure this

patient is about to undergo.

In our clinic, medical doctors - anesthesiologists administer anesthesia, and monitor the patients during the operative and

postoperative period.

Types of anesthesia:

/ Local anesthesia - In our clinic, minor procedures are performed under local anesthesia.

/ Enhanced local anesthesia - Less extensive procedures are performed under enhanced local anesthesia. This type of

anesthesia comprises a strong sedative administered intravenously, and a local anesthetic injected at the operation area.

Some of the advantages of this type of anesthesia are patient’s spontaneous breathing, much quicker recovery from

anesthesia and signifi cantly smaller risk of possible complications. From surgical point of view, this type of anesthesia has

also numerous advantages. Under enhanced local anesthesia, the patient is in light sleep and the procedure is painless.

Our patients are very pleased with this type of anesthesia, especially because it enables quicker recovery. After the surgery

performed under enhanced local anesthesia, our patients are sent to home care the very same day.

/ General anesthesia - If the procedure is extensive, or if we perform more surgeries at once, we use general anesthesia. In

our clinic, medical doctors - anesthesiologists administer general anesthesia, and monitor the patients during the operative

and postoperative period. In order to minimize health risks for our patients, we have been using the same type of the

balanced general anesthesia, which is almost never accompanied by allergic reactions or some other unwanted side

effects. This type of general anesthesia has proved itself as excellent throughout 20 years of our experience. Under general

anesthesia, the patient is in deep sleep and the procedure is painless. After the general anesthesia we administer in our

clinic, the recovery is quite fast and without complications. The surgery performed under general anesthesia is followed by

the early postoperative recovery monitored by our medical doctor – anesthesiologist.
