They may also be needed at intermediary points so that, if problems have arisen, corrective measures can be taken. B.1 Objectives of the Action
B.1.1 Specific objective(s) of the Action Instructions for the detailed technical description of the action
1. Technical description of the proposed solution, including the state of development
Describe your proposed solution (max 3 pages ex photographs and sketches to illustrate the solution), covering at least the listed issues:
• Description of the technology, product, service or solution including its innovative aspects. Please specify the physical location of the project, and, if appropriate, specify the production capacity of current or future plants;
• Any preparatory research, existing prototype or previous tests in real-life. Please indicate if you received funding for any activity concerned from any EU funding programme;
• Similar or comparable solutions on the market and relevant competitors;
• Possible technical and economic risks;
• Possible issues of Intellectual Property Rights (notably existing, requested and planned patents);
2. Overview of the market and relevant framework conditions
Please provide characteristics of the market you target with your solution (max 2p). Describe legal and policy framework, which might affect the implementation of your solution:
• Identified short-term and potential market size for uptake;
• Identified market barriers to the proposed solution;
• Market demand and/or results of market analyses;
• Relevant framework (policy, regulatory) in the EU and COSME participating countries and how it affects the implementation of your solution.
3. Exploitation of the action
Please provide description of the exploitation and market uptake of the proposed action, including the time during and after the project’s duration. Business plan (or a similar strategy) should be described. At least the following issues should be covered:
• Potential and conditions for replication and transferability of the proposed solution, to e.g. other parts of the EU (and other COSME participating countries), other sectors;
• Business plan and/or marketing strategy;
• Replication and transferability;
• Target groups and key actors that will be addressed and involved in the action;
• Exploitation and business opportunities of the project during and after the project duration.
4. Describe also the relevant dissemination activities, which should include setting up of a project website.

B.1.2. Target group/audience • This section should describe to which target group(s) the activities are dedicated i.e. SMEs in

models or assumptions involved.
• Describe the methodology, tools and quality control criteria needed for the implementation of the proposed action by making the link with the different work packages.

• Provide description of the economic sustainability of the project: what are the expected results and economic impacts of the project, both during and after the project’s duration. Please refer to the indicators listed in call specifications.

The number allocated by the co-ordinator to the participants for this proposal.The co-ordinator of a proposal shall always be participant number one.
Applicants shall make sure that the participant number is consistent in allapplication forms.
The official short name of the organisation shall be indicated. This cannot bemore than 20 characters long.
If an organisation has no official short name, applicants shall choose one foridentification of the organisation within this proposal. The same short namemust be used in all parts of the proposal including the Annexes.
3. Direct personnel costs Calculated automatically.
This cost category contains costs for staff of the participant related to travel and subsistence allowances. The number of travels is calculated per person per meeting. E.g. if one person travels to one meeting, you should indicate 1 travel here, independently of the duration of the meeting. If 2 persons travel to the same meeting, or if 1 person travels to 2 different meetings, you would indicate a 2 here. The travel and subsistence rate shall be calculated on the basis of the usual practices of the participant. Travel costs for subcontractors are to be included under subcontracting costs. Subscription fees e.g. to fairs or similar should be charged under "Other specific costs".This cost category covers costs related to equipment which are necessary to realise the proposed action. Applicants shall describe the nature and use of the equipment clearly and convincingly in the related work package description (Technical Annex 1).
This cost category contains direct costs that cannot be included under the previous cost categories for direct costs. Examples:
Costs of financial guarantees Costs of external audits Costs arising from the action requirements (e.g.dissemination of information, specific evaluation of the action, translations, reproduction)
Consumables and supplies shall be clearly identifiable and specifically assigned to the action/project.
The Model Grant Agreement (art 10) published together with the call contains the rules that beneficiaries shall respect when purchasing services to subcontractors.How to complete the table:Applicants shall indicate the name of the subcontractor, if already known, orTBD (to be determined), the country, and a short, but clear description of thework to be undertaken.
The tasks for subcontractors should be described in sufficient detail in the respective Work Package description of Technical Annex 1.

Indirect costs (overheads) are eligible for a flat-rate funding of 7 % of the total amount of eligible direct costs. The amount is calculated automatically.
Typical costs are: office rent, computers, electricity, heating, gas etc.
The amount of co-funding applicants expects to receive from third parties, asopposed to own funds from applicants’ own capital. This could for instanceinclude other public or private funding.
Own-co-funding is not to be included here.
11. Income generated by theproject
The amount of co-funding applicants expect to generate during theimplementation of the project (if allowed by the Call). It may include feescharged for the provision of certain services, admision fees to events organisedas part of the action or the commercialisation of products generated by theaction.Indication of the role of each participant, as defined by the consortium for thisproposal. The two options are CC and CP.
13. Category of staff to work on the project
Applicants shall identify each category of staff in a clear and unambiguous manner. The Model Grant Agreement (art. 6.2.A) details the types of eligible staff.

The maximum EU contribution is defined in the call text. Unless the call states otherwise, the funding rate per participant can be higher or lower, as long as the total requested funding from the EU does not exceed the maximum rate of EU contribution defined in the call.
