COS COB SCHOOL WEEK AT A GLANCE SEPTEMBER 18 - 22 FROM OUR PRINCIPAL Dear Parents, Thank you to all who have been following the parking rules and regulations for Cos Cob School. I know each of you share my concern regarding the safety of all of our children. I know that the bussing situation has been stressful for parents who have children riding busses to and from school. I appreciate your patience as the district works through all the “kinks,” and things begin to settle down. Thank you to all who have been supporting the Driscoll Children’s Hospital fundraiser in Texas, following Hurricane Harvey. It is wonderful seeing all of the children’s toys, books, and arts and craft items being delivered. It has been heartbreaking watching the devastation in both Texas and Florida. Be sure to see the flyer in this WAG from “The Undies Project.” Your support will be very much appreciated. Most of you remember the passing last spring of Sarah Jane Hedbabny, one of our parents. In her memory, we planted a peach tree in our beautiful courtyard, which we have been watching grow for the past six months. The peach tree bloomed this summer and yesterday, Stephan, Calista and Max came to school to pick the first of the peaches. It was a heartwarming moment, and I wanted to share this picture with you. It has been impossible not to be deeply touched by the many tragedies and heartbreaking stories, and scenes that we have witnessed over the past two weeks on television. We look at those visions and can't help wonder what it must be like to lose everything in a blink of an eye and wonder how you will rebuild your life. The picture of Sarah Jane’s beautiful family reminded me how precious life is, and how important every moment of each day is. Let's take time to enjoy our friends, our families, and those around us. By supporting the victims of these disasters we truly show our children what it means to “Care For Self and Others.” I wish all of our families who will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah next Thursday a very happy new year, and hope you all have a nice weekend. “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud” Maya Angelou MARK YOUR CALENDAR Cos Cob School Open House evening of Tuesday, September 26 School Photos – Friday, October 6, order forms coming home today. COS COB SCHOOL WEEK AT A GLANCE

SEPTEMBER 18 - 22 FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents,

Thank you to all who have been following the parking rules and regulations for Cos Cob School.

The Committee starts planning in January to develop a theme and organize a week-long celebration of breakfasts, lunches and other treats. Get creative - this week for our teachers is what we make it.
