Joint technical meeting with County Public Works & Engineering Staff, Township Staff and City of Pembroke Staff, with traffic consultants for Laurentian Meadows Subdivision (aka Burcom Subdivision). 2. Attendance at OVED partners meeting. 3. Testified at the Ontario Municipal Board Hearing for the proposed Forest Lea Road Recreation Facility (Z-2014-08). 4. Attendance at Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards. Three Laurentian Valley businesses received awards: Small Business of the Year winner was Valley Automotive; Agri-Business of the Year winner was Forest Lea Stables; and Professional Services of the Year winner was Valley Naturopath. Laurentian Valley resident, Jamie Bramburger received the Community Ambassador of the Year Award. 5. Attendance at Ontario East Economic Development Commission Annual General Meeting (Copy of Ontario East Year in Review - 2014 information sheet attached.) 6. Attendance at the County of Renfrew Agricultural Economic Development Committee Meeting. 7. Review and Report Preparation related to several development proposals including Zoning By-law Amendment Files: Z2015-01 and Z2015-02; preparation of submission package to County on 47T-14005 (Kirklyn Estates Subdivision); review of requests for security release for 4 site plan agreements and 1 subdivision, as well as, pre- consultation on several development inquiries. 8. Investors meetings

Ontario East members met with 9 Tourism Site

Investors and presented 19 of Eastern Ontario's

potential tourism investment properties. An

"Investments are Happening in Ontario East" brochure

was produced for this event.

OEEDC Quarterly Networking meetings

Members attended 4 networking meetings held

throughout the year, to meet with Cabinet Ministers

and learn about local and regional initiatives.

Ontario Ministries Investment Officers

Members attended networking meetings with MEDEl,

OMAFRA and Tourism, trade and marketing staff to

share the opportunities; for foreign investments in

Eastern Ontario.

STRATEGIES

Eastern Ontario Economic Development Strategy

OEEDC supported the work completed by the Eastern

Ontario Wardens' Caucus to develop an Eastern Ontario

Economic Development Strategy.

Communication Plan and Content Strategies

Tourism Sector Team and Innovative Rural Opportunities

Team members developed a road map for their

investment attraction ini'= iatives.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

A Tourism Investment Asset Mapping Project was

completed.

A report on "Sector Trends and Opportunities", as well

as an "FDI Strategic Plan" was completed.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

2014 Marketing Canada Award

Ontario East Economic Development during the

Economic Developers Association of Canada's 46th.

National Conference, was recognized for our

Promotional Video "Move to Ontario East - Lifestyle

Promotion".

ONTARIO EAST MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE

324 economic developers and Municipal councillors and

staff attended the three day conference held in September

in Kingston. The theme ConnectiCollaborateiCultivate

continued the annual tradition of being a venue for

information exchange, professional development and

networking opportunities.

OTHER TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

OEEDC partnered with Ontario Ministry of Agriculture,

Food and Rural Affairs to offer member training in:

FUNDING

• OEEDC was successful at receiving over

$140,000 in funding from Federal and

Provincial initiatives.

MEMBERSHIP

Our members get the last word - OEEDC has a membership of 144 professionals, representing over 200

communities, with the mandate to promote Eastern Ontario as the best place to do business.
