The current fiscal year, starting from April 2019, is our 38th year in business.

The fiscal year ended March 2019 was the final year of our mid-term four-year plan, which started in the fiscal year 2015.Over the past four years, we have sought to create a new growth engine and shift towards more highly-profitable business operations, while at the same time catering diligently to the expectations of our customers.As a result of these efforts, and thanks to the support of everyone involved, we achieved results that greatly surpassed our targets, and I feel that this has had a strong positive effect.

The reason that we have been able to achieve such steady, continuous growth is that we have had the support of our numerous customers, suppliers and shareholders. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you, deeply, once again.

This fiscal year we have launched our new mid-term five-year plan. Over the next five years, we will continue to drive our business forward, with a view to further growth and development, as we shift into areas of business offering higher added value and greater potential for the future.I want us to properly identify the issues to tackle and points for reform in each of our business sectors, as we steer our company boldly, but delicately, in the right direction.

We must also remember never to lose sight of our corporate philosophy and code of conduct, which provide shared ideals for all of our employees to aspire to; and to continue valuing them as our criteria for judging value.Put simply, this means, let’s try our best to give energy to others, and to make others happy! This is our 38rd year in business. Having been able to achieve such a long business history, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to our customers, business partners and shareholders for their continued support and understanding. This year is the first fiscal year of Systena Corporation’s new mid-term five-year plan, which will take us to the fiscal year ending March 2024.With this plan, we are actively pursuing stronger sales, an upgraded and expanded range of in-house commercial products and services, concentrated investment in growth areas, and a scrap-and-build approach to existing businesses as our mid-term management policies towards achieving our final-year targets of sales of 101 billion yen (we posted 59.7 billion yen for the fiscal year ended March 2019) and operating income of 15.2 billion yen (6.9 billion yen for FY2019).

In line with these policies, we are reducing or withdrawing from businesses showing decelerating growth, swiftly diverting our management resources into fields with high growth potential, and pushing forward with encryption security and IoT platforms as the key focus products for our overseas business operations, through proactive investment in North American ventures.

Although competition in the IT industry remains fierce, we will continue to steer the company with a steady hand, and set the Group on course to achieving the goals of this mid-term five-year plan.

Moving forward, the Systena Group will continue to contribute to the development of the Japanese economy by helping to support the thriving businesses of its customers, and the development of social infrastructure.
