INTRODUCTION TO CHANNEL 2

Channel 2 Group Corporation is the brainchild of visionary

entrepreneur, Mr. Ajay Sethi, who is the Chairman of the

corporation. At an early stage of his already illustrious career, he

recognised the importance of digitisation and has used it cleverly to

transform his business goals especially in the field of sports and

entertainment.

A Broadcast pioneer with the 1st Hindi terrestrial channel outside

India, Mr. Sethi has dedicatedly pursued his passionate interest in

sports by launching the first ever Radio over the internet – Cricket

Radio. His obsession with sports also extends to other sports like

Football, Tennis, and Golf.

Given the mass appeal of sports across the globe, his goal is to

intertwine the vivacity of sports along with the glamour of

entertainment that is backed by superior technological solutions

With a visionary approach to the entertainment world, especially Bollywood, AjaySethi entered this domain with the launch of Channel 729 on Ajman TV in 2003.Channel 729 was telecast for 4 years as a terrestrial channel. With the advance ofsatellite television, Mr. Sethi launched Channel 2 Entertainment in 2006, a jointventure with the Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) venturing into the digitalspace as well. Today, Channel 2 has extensive and exclusive terrestrial rights of audioand digital broadcast of sports, movies, and entertainment across differentgeographies.

Channel 729, The first hindi terrestrial channel outside India. Mr Sethi launched 24hrfree to air entertainment channel as a joint venture with Kenyan BroadcastCorporation (Government of Kenya) and beginning a venture into DVBT- Digital VideoBroadcast Televion, Started a Pay TV platform in East Africa, jointly with nationalbroadcasters. Channel 2 also held BCCI TV rights for the territory of Africa.

Channel 2 Movies and Entertainment, the entertainment arm of Channel 2,offersterrestrial services with a mix of latest entertainment from Hollywood andBollywood. They were the first company to have an exclusive pay TV license andenter into a joint partnership with the Kenyan, Ugandan, and Tanzanian broadcastingcorporations.

The Channel 2 Group, through its Chairman- Mr. Ajay Sethi, is oneof the founders and promoters of the Kensville Championship GolfCourse Housing Scheme in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. This 18hole golf course is spread across 900 acres and includes hotel andspa facilities as well.

Emarat Dzayer Steel is a Joint venture company of Emarat DzayerGroup from UAE Dubai and Groupe Imetal of the DemocraticRepublic of Algeria. Announced in 2016 with an investment of 1.6billion USD

The Emarat Dzayer Group is promoted by Shk. Ahmed Sheebani andMr. Ajay Sethi whereas Groupe Imetal is a company promoted byGovernment of Algeria. The MOU was signed recently on thesidelines of the Algerian-Emirati Investment Forum in the presenceof Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan - Deputy Prime Minister andMinister for Presidential Affairs, Abdul Malek Sellal - Prime Ministerof Algeria, Abdeslam Bouchouareb - Algeria’s Minister of Industryand Mines, and other ministers and dignitaries from Algeria and theUAE.

The group proposes a subsidiary company in Algeria to set up aintegrated steel plant to produce rail, heavy, and light structures,and seamless pipes to cater the needs of the Government of Algeria.The production capacity of the plant shall be 1.0 million units withthe required product mix.

State of Art technology will be used to produce pellets from the ironore followed by other processes to reach the final product and meetthe local demand of infrastructure development and Oil & Gasexploration.

not have a long term business plan or strategy. Like most entrepreneurs, I am

passionate about my work and put a lot of emotions into my company. These

A DIFFERENT BALL GAME

The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) is a

premier, league style franchise based competition that is

owned by Mahesh Bhupathi. It was launched in November

2014 and consists of four franchises – Manila, Singapore,

Dubai, and India.

The Channel 2 Group had entered into a partnership with

cricket veteran Sunil Gavaskar, Kishan Gehlot - chairman

of Intex Group and Shashi Shetty, chairman of the

Avvashya Group to acquire a stake in the Singapore team

in 2014.

HONOURING OUR LEGENDS

In 2008, Channel 2 honoured the Indian Cricket heroes who won the World Cup of 1983 by hosting a glamourous event called “LEGENDS OF LORDS”

at the Atlantis the Palm in Dubai. This event was held to celebrate 25 years of the historic win that changed the face of cricket in India forever.

The grand event saw the Indian team of 1983 in full attendance along with over 1000 A-listers from Dubai. The audience witnesses the legendary
