From a film producer to a global high tech corporation

Fujifilm’s history dates back nearly 80 years to 1934. While the company was first established with the aim of domestically producing photographic films, it soon began entering new domains including the medical and printing fields by building on its accumulated expertise. Fujifilm has worked to diversify its business and today is among the leaders in each of its businesses on the back of innovative technologies.

Today, the Group is active across the three broad fields of imaging solutions, which handle products including cameras and photographic film, information solutions, which provides equipment and materials to advanced medical, printing, liquid crystal display and related fields, and document solutions, led mainly by Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd., which is responsible for copy machine- and digital printing-related products and services.

In line with the medium term strategy the company practices an offensive capital-and investment policy in se-veral growth sectors. For this target selected resources are provided, mergers and acquisitions are facilitated, and furthermore high investments in research and development are carried out. Doing so, the Group secured a substantial improvement in its earnings and has laid the foundation for further growth.

PowEr to transForm Fujifilm is known as the world’s largest photographic and imaging company. We are also innovating in medicine, highly functional materials, and many other high-tech areas.

Using the experience and know-how from the photo-graphic sector, Fujifilm has diversified successfully into many new segments.
